I doubted at one stage that silver dollars would be good tank mates for my two baby O's. Little did i know they would save a whole lot of heartache. They are the best thing that EVER happened to my O tank so far. Heaven sent!! I used to have a poop prob but now, poop litteraly DOES NOT exist in my tank. They do their job sooooo good, they litteraly suck the poop out of my O's bums. They wait for them to eat then tail-gate them till they leave their droppings. Im soo happy with them. gosh, talk about crystal clear water.! Just thought i'd let people in on my satisfaction.

i don't have SD nor plec but my tank never had issue with the waste.
my set up allows me to collect the craft, including left over foods,
and keep my tank crystal clear.... except when i was hit by green algae
after a few days without power.

i know, its discusting,.. ill film it one day and post it. They litteraly sit there and wait for the SD to clean them up.. hahha

Mine have gotten the habit of stealing the fish i feed to my Gar. The 6 of them team up and the Gar has to move very quickly to keep his food.

I got 2 males and 4 females and the males can get quite aggresive with eachother.
So 1 male and 5 females may have been better.
If you get 4 , try to get one male and 3 females.
The males have a see-through prolongued anal fin, while the females have a red anal fin.

ow, they haven't got that much bodymass, but you may be pushing the limits a bit, and thus increasing the need for more frequent and larger waterchanges.
This may become a drag in time.
If you want to put some in ,I'd say 3-4 wouldt be the most.
But 2 O's in a 5 footer may be enough allready on the bioload...
Religious waterchanges may be nescesary after introducing more fish.

Sd are great fish and they dont add much to the bio load. You could add a few easily. How many gallons is your tank
