I was looking at getting two oscars and two pictus cats for my aquarium...I was just wondering assuming the O's are about 1"-2" when I get them what size should the pictus be when I get them? I wanted to get them all at the same time so they get used to each other as they grow. I'm sure the oscars gorw much quicker than the cats so would it be best to get the two pictus as adults with the two baby O's or would they eat the O's? Any help would be appreciated...thanks!

I dont know how quick pictus grow but i would guess that you will be ok if you get them a similar size as the oscar

Ok...thanks. I'm hoping with them all being introduced at the same time it will help a little with aggression as they get older. Of course if it doesn't it'll be an excuse to get another tank!

pictus dont grow as fast as oscars do but if you purchase them all at the same time the oscars will not be able to harm the pictus for many months and by then they should all be accustomed with each other.

ahhh when i first bought my oscars i bought 5 pictus catfish to go with, never have had any problems with them, altho i nolonger have them, my friend offered me a large enough sum to part with them and they are now living happily in his tank with 2 oscars and a mess of black convicts he also got from me.

I have 2 pictus in my Oscar tank, and they never bother each other. As a matter of fact the pictus do a great job of cleaning up what the Oscars spit out!

Haha...and that Elf Yourself video with everyones heads on dancing elves that was posted on here just had a commercial on TV right now and now my wife is looking at me like i'm crazy cuz i'm laughing at it at little too hard!
