Well I would like some succes stories of Angelfish and Oscars being together?

How long were they together for ?

Are they still together ?

What was/are the tank dimensions they succeded in ?

Iam just still a little nervous about adding an oscar , was told some horror stories,

even though iam waiting till my angels get to their adult size, they are long finned.

Also thanks for the help everyone.

i have for around two years until my angel died due to too much fats.
she loves to munch spill over of the oscars; from a size less than 1 inch wide
to the size wider than my palm.

Also just to double check oscars grow faster than angelfish right? so it would be better to wait tell the angels are full grown or most of the way there.

also thats a lovely angel paul.

in my case, i started them together....and yes, oscar grew faster but
angel was able to cope with the monster and take all oscar eggs and fries.

Can't sleep so, what was the oscar's like when they were young, trying to see if being carefree baby oscar leads to a carefree adult oscar.

So even with breeding agression/terriorial the angel was tough enough, thats awesome.

also what color form are those oscars in the pic they are lovely.

ha ha ha..addicting...isn't it????

i got them as red but grew up as white but not albino. the black markings
connotes that they are red strain. however, when i lost the female, the male
gradually change the color until he jump out of the tank lately.

i never see my oscars bully the angel except during spawning.

So what was you feeding schedule?

So they went from red to white and black that is awesome, I would love to get my hands on a white and black oscar.

and only when his mate died the male went to red again, and then attempted suicide that is some depression.

fish are in my blood and mind.

Also what do you think caused them to turn red to white and vice versa?

i used to give them pellets; beefheart or pork spleen; grass shrimp, and occasional
feeders to make them active.

they grew up as black and white and had spawn several times

and only when his mate died the male went to red again, and then attempted suicide that is some depression.

no, not went to red again...he never been red although they were classified
as red when small....a few weeks ago, i clean the tank and forgot to slide the
lid cover 12 midnight, the following morning, my dog was guarding the fish dead
on the ground.

fish are in my blood and mind.

Also what do you think caused them to turn red to white and vice versa?

no idea...it remained a puzzle to me.....i never change the feeding regiment.

Those white and black Oscars are still pretty unbelievably awesome.

Paul were you able to tell if any of the surviving fry would be like their parents, to bad they're still aren't around.

thanks... though i lost both of them....the female last july, while the male was
late october or early november i think. fortunately, i have surviving fry which i
can not explain too because it also different strain... survivor is the offspring of
them....that yellow lutino with bright red marking is the descendant of that white.

Thank so much paul for shaaring such an awesome tank setup. why do people besides everyone here keep telling me that oscars are to boistrous for fragile angelfish.

In my opinion angels arent fragile when they hit sexual maturity. they are fragile when less than two inches long thats for sure.
