Any Pleco with an Oscar is a crap shoot. I have heard and read horror stories about them. But I have always kept Plecs in every tank, and never had any issues... Maybe I am just lucky that way!!

of course a living animal still craps lol, iam jusst curious about how well a rhino pleco would do with an oscar. other tankmates include two angelfish, 1 blackghost knife, two spotted rapheals(hoover and riccar),4 ivory snails, 4 trapdoor snails, and 20 ramshorns and 100 malaysian trumpet snails. Might alos do some live plants.

filtration is bio and mechanical with 600gph of water going through it.

tank size is 120.

i know someone who has a oscar and a common pleco but im almost 90% sure that a any pleco you get out of that bunch will be should be fine but you have to make sure you have some hiding places to be safe

Like Nicki said it all depends on the pleco...some can try and eat the slime coat off of an oscar during the night and some are perfectly fine with oscars and never bother them. Just keep a close eye on everyone if you get one just in case.

dear lord why would you want malaysian trumpet snails... those are like an infestation when they start reproducing and virtually impossible to get rid of without tearing the tank apart or using a poison to kill them.

ill keep an eye on the pleco, malaysian trumpets well i fell in love with those snails mine currently range in sizes of 1.5 inches long and 1/4 inche wide to a size smaller than a grain of rice so i count about 200 roughly so i say there could be another thousand in babies, i also love the fact that just one can turn into thousands due too thier ability to "clone" themselves. also they keep my sand moving

x2, i have many plecos and they never hurt any other fish.
I love plecos but my opinion may change if one of them sucked on any of my other fish.
If you have 2 big plecos, they may fight eachother, for they get territorial in the confined space of a tank.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

Malaysian's don't really pile on the crap, the only real biolad they contribute to my system is like say another angelfish. They eat leftovers and maintain the sand between cleanings, also they don't live to long either, I'd say 1.5 years tops. Also the babes tend to have a low survival rate, they tend to be dumber than a grain of sand. I once had 60 or more rice sized baby mts stuck to the end of a power head and their shells where empty, I guessed it was due to being sucked out of their little shells.
