I have 4ft x 18" x 18" tank. (about 350 liter or 80 gallon) I've done some re-decoring inside. (caused 2 weeks of instability, Thank God, it's back to almost normal now, although still having 0.25 or less ammonia and currently being treated with stability and ammolock). I have 2 planted driftwood (annubias) and some large bunch of leafy plants(cant remember what's it called) with 2 boulders on the middle.

I have 1 red oscar, he's quite big (about 25-30 cm length) Can I add another medium large oscar in it? Was thinking of getting an albino I saw one at my local lfs. (about 20 cm long, little bit smaller than my guy)

The problem is he is quite an aggresive fish. He attacks his own image, my finger, etc and also an aggresive feeder too.

I heard oscar can tolerate its own kind much better than other fish.

Your tank isn't big enough to house 2 scars Hun, Yes the one your looking at may be smaller now, but soon it will to be a MONSTER... I would suggest adding maybe a Firemouth, or a JD... they are good tankmates that don't get near as big as an Oscar!

i thought my Oscar was lonely after his tankmate the sunfish died.
I got a big @$$ ciclid as a friend.
Turned out the ciclid became more of a nuisance to my O than a friend...
Now i had to rehome the bully and my O makes sure i don't think he's alone anymore.
He made it clear he doesn't need any extra tankmates.lol

Lol, expensive experience to learn.

Yeah I'll leave him alone. He is having fun hitting and biting my finger.

aggreed, i bought the Vieja for 65 US$ and had to give it away for free, cause my O was getting beat up bad.
But it's allmost a month ago and most of the damage has allready healed.

You could put a small shole of Silver Dollars in the tank with him to play with.
They seem to keep my Oscar occupied.

My Silver Dollars are approx. 1 1/2" in (38.1mm)but their not full grown. I believe
they can get bigger than 4"(101.6mm). Maybe someone else has seen them bigger.

I have 2 anubias on wood and the other bunch anchored on the corner covering water inlet pipe. My O seems to leave em alone for now.

About the silver dollars, I tried to put 2 SDs in the tank the O chased them like there's no tomorrow. So I moved them away back to my other tank right away. But I am just wondering if the O will leave larger shoal of SDs alone. Maybe like 5 or 6??
