Does 6 Silver Dollars in a 100 gallon with 2 Oscars sound alright?
Might end up being just one Oscar depending on how they get along.

when fully grown it may be a lot, it will depend how much work you want to do to keep the water conditions good. is that 100uk or USA? its do-a-ble if you put the work in.

I got a 180Gl with one O and 6 SD's.
I think a 100Gl would be nice for the same combo.
I wouldn't put 2 O's in.

99.74 us gallons or 378 litres
5 feet long, 2 feet high, 16" deep

Odds are I will only have one Oscar.

I am rehoming one of the three this weekend to do it being picked on.

So 6 SDs will be fine in a 100 gallon.

As for the Oscars, I know which one I want to keep if it comes down to only being able to have one.

I guess I should mention that I have a foot long Gibb. Pleco, and a 7 or 8 inch Raphael Cat. I don't mind doing water changes ever 3 or 4 days.

The Oscars in the tank are 3.5 inches, the SD's are 2 inches or so.

These are the SD's forsale
6 for $30

One oscar and 6 SD will be fine but not 2 oscars, you will be able to get away with the plec if you put the work in but with all your fish you will struggle

Are you really prepared to do a water change every 3 or 4 days without fail for years. Remember you wont be able to miss one water change, if you do you could end up in trouble

what about holidays, I can go away for a week easy, i do a water change before i go and one when i get back. If i go for 2 weeks i only need to ask someone to do one water change, whereas you will need someone to do 3 or 4 water changes. Have you go someone to do them

So my issue would mainly be bio load.
How about space wise?

If its a common pleco they get really large, like 24" I've got one in my tank also
and I know one day he's gonna have to go. I think Silver Dollars can get in excess of 4",so it can get pretty crowded after a while.

my thoughts are the dollars will group up and stay together. the oscar will have its own space and be left alone. problem is the plec makes a lot of crap. it will stay out the way i would have thought but its the water conditions that affect us all. not space. my tank looks empty when the clowns are hiding. people look in and say 2 fish in that tank??? thing is my one big fish keeps me on my toes with water changes. before adding it I could go 2 wks without a water change, now I am doing 2 a wk sometimes. space becomes an issue when breeding starts or fish become territorial. a pair of oscars mating could give you all the problems you could cope with. you may think you can do the water changes but believe me, wk ater wk, yr after yr its hard. I would say try the 1 oscar and dollars. another tank for the cat and plec or rehome. see how you get on. test that water and change when needed you will be ok, don't be fooled into thinking its easy. do it a few months 1st and I won't see you posting in the help its all gone wrong forum
