so long story short
friend had 5 gallon tank
pleco in the tank
didnt care for it really
told him it would probably die
he said i could have it
took it from its prison cell
and its a pleco
5 inches maybe more
now i have a 135
with two oscars 8inchs
one green terror 6 inchs
one common pleco 6inchs
and this new pleco which i think is a gold pleco? 5inchs

and yes i no im over stocked but im not gunna keep it so to say haha
im giving to my GF whos has a 46 gallon bowfront tank which curently houses 4 electric yellows. well she be ok by adding the pleco?

so it grows bigger than the comman pleco? im cimfused
i didnt plan on keeping it cause i new i would be over stocked it was only gunna be in my tank till this weekend when i planned on throwning it into my GF's tank
but nm if its gunna out grow my tank then it defenitly cant go into her tank

If he is indeed a "Sailfin" which is actually a pterygoplichthys gibbiceps or maybe even a squaliforma villarsi; he'll get anywhere between 7 and 17 inches. Most local fish stores are retarded and have no idea of what they really have. I have a store here that actually just makes names up for their fish if they don't know it. The fish they commonly sell here labeled a "Sailfin" or a "Leopard" is actually the gibbiceps. The guy told me "oh they only get about 9"." Uh.....no jackass they get 17".

i rather keep him over my comman pleco but thats the GF favorite fish and if i sell it and keep the sailfin im getting beat haha
