Well, after introducing myself yesterday and after perusing through this category I want your advice on whether I could get away with a tank mate for my Oscar, which is some 4 inches long so far. My tank is a 65 US gallon and I have two big HOB filters, plus a Marineland 360 canister filter. I was thinking on either a Firemouth or a Convict, or something else. I wanted it to be a cichlid.

Thank you for any advice.

I don't think I would add any more fish to your aquarium. Give it 18 months and your oscar could well be approaching 12 inches. I think you are going to be pushing it by putting any more fish in the tank, especially ones that need to get to a certain size so they do not become dinner

Im sorry but your tank isnt big enough. Oscars get massive and if you see a full size one then you will see why your tank is only big enough for 1 oscar
I can't get no sleep

with that size, i would rather enjoy one happy oscar with good
decor like driftwood and some rocks. adding one more fish and it
would be more problem later on....
