Yesterday i was at the"bad" lfs in my hometown, and checked the Oscars.
Thay removed a lot of them and there were maybe 10 in the tank.
6 juvi tigers with O spot, very enthousiastics ans looking healthy.
They also had a 5 incher and the one i fell in love with was a 6 inch mellow tiger.
Not that i can judge gender but "she" seems to be just as gentle as my bronze one.
I got enough tankspace to get her and all of them have lovely O spots.
Now i'm in doubt, for my tank is cool and quiet.
What do you experts say.
Should i try getting the tiger and see what happens, or is this disaster to happen?
Or could i ask if i could return the beauty is things go wrong?
Mind you my O never acted aggressive and is a bit of a pussy.
Please tell me what you think!
I could also get a baby and have him eat Kim's communityfish until he's big enough!
But the 6 incher has my interest the most...

she loved her very much ,especially the o spot.
guess i'm going back to check today and ask whats possible.
If i can trade her in if things turn out bad, i might do it.
my bioload will cope with another soon to be big fish...
i'm just affraid that i'm doing this to make me feel better, instead of thinking it over, like i usually do...
you know my mood at the moment.

well will it hurt anything to sleep on it one more night?

I know what you mean... I get down and I add pets also. I now have a zoo. lol.. But I have to say, as long as in the end you are going to fallow through ( and I know you will) Then adding a little happiness in this dark time may be a good thing!

Think it over Hun.. I am sure you will do the right thing.

They also had lovely 3,5 inch tigers with o spots. I'm sure my gar won't bother him, but I'm affraid my 10Inch O will better agree with a 6 incher.
Or i could put it in the 90Gl comm tank, for that one will have to be emptied if i get my 10foot + tank.
The fish looks very healthy.
Quarantine would be nescecary, just to be sure, right?
And for how long to be sure?
I'd have to set up a quarantine tank with a used fiter to do that...
But i got that stuff ready!
What would you say, please state your opinions!
btw the 6 Incher is so nice, returning it will surely be no problem, but that is not my intention!

On the other hand a quarantine tank will give a tiny O enough time to grow.
Anyone have good expieriences with introducing a small Oscar into a tank with a gentle o , that has never showed any aggression to any fish?
He ate a slender algae eater ones, but the tiny ones at the lfs are sizeable bigger than that algae eater. He's not interrested in eating any fish nowadays.

if you have room for it, and the filters to support it, and the ability to take it back should things go wrong, noddy i dont see why you shouldnt if that is what you want pal! go for it! you know the routine, i dont know why you even asked us, you knew what would be said lol.

You won't believe this, but i setup my quarantinetank just for sure and i allready reserved the O!
If life gives you s#it, buy a fish.
Still not sure if i'm gonna quarantine that long, but i'm ready.
Post pics later, of course.
Transferred one of the cycled filters from the 90Gl and will get a new one besides the canister i have there.
I think my mood is changing allready!
