there have been afew ppl on here who have happily kept red bellies with their oscars.
although we have had also had ppl who have had them run riot in their tanks and hurt/kill other fish, depends how much research u do and how seriouse u r about it mate, if it was me id keep a couple of them in a single species tank sep from yr o's

with huge tank yes.... and should be one on one...but with small
tank smaller than 100 gal...no...you can not.... you will end up with
piranha alone...that is also true with flowerhorn.

looooooooooove the flowerhorn,

Got my first at 2 inches and put it in a Communal tank (unknowing how vicious he was) with about 15 other various fish; went to sleep and woke up with a Flowerhorn Tank

Personally I wouldn't mix the 2. piranha are natural enemy of the Oscar in the wild.

best comment yet, The whole Oscar appearance, the rounded of fins, the O spot ect. are completely disigned to avoid "Fin-nipping" attack from Piranhas.
Can it be done?
Yes, like Paul stated, but you are taking a risk of a 'Free fight arena" and i wouldn't risk it myself.
Plus i don't know who's gonna win, but the piranha is not nescesarily the the winner.
In the wild O's will protect their offspring and while doing that will even go after the P's.
I say get a one species only tank with a school of P's and leave the O with better suitable tankmates.
I'd love to have a Piranha tank, but fish with teeth and small children don't mix!

no, that last bit is a lie!
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
