Depends on lots of factors. Cultural upbringing; current location, health, time.

Me personally, no. I have no need to farm my own - we have an abundance of beautiful fish here (*Australia) to eat.

in regards to my last point, i suppose its only the same as farm stock if u raise the fish with the intention of eating them, as we do with our animals....but mine r same as my dog...wouldnt dream of eating them..but if i had a tank big enough to keep some wild trout in id def raise them 4 food!

I don't that one day I would suddenly decide I was going to eat one of my fish. If the situation ever arose whereas it was either eat my fish or starve to death then obviously I would eat my fish, anyone would. People often say they wouldn't eat one of their pets under any circumstances, well I think that starvation would make you do things that you couldn't even contemplate normally.

Very true, the bible states a story where the famine was so high in a besieged town that they started to eat their children.
Starving explorers on the northpole once ate a whole tribe of eskimo's when they couldn't stand the hunger.
Now who could ever imagine that!
Would you eat human flesh?

There's more delicious fish in the supermarket than i ever need, you my dead pet will be disposed instead of eaten, or probably buried.
But hold on, i hope my fish will be around for a long long time!
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

i will be hypocrite if i say no.... i used to do that before when i raised
them purposely for food. oscar for one, grow fast and taste good when properly
fed. tilipia and pangasius also taste good. if you raised something for that
purpose, it will not be difficult to do so...but now, i wouldn't touch my own
oscar even if it is deliciously laid in the plate (last incident was Nov.2009).
however, i still eat a lot of fish from the market that were also raised in the
ponds/farms.

yes, i have tasted it too... pacu also grow fast but do not taste like
tilapia and oscar. some sector of the government is now studying the possibility
of raising arapaima in commercial level.... but like other fishes, they need to
be careful with the ecosystem....
