so as if my month isnt going bad enough with on of my oscars having a internal parasite that i cant seem to get rid off.

my oscars just ate about half of my arowana,theres two huge holes where his stomach use to be most of his scales are missing and obviously he bairly looks like a arowana ive now moved him into a tank that ive filled with meth blue and salt but i doubt that he will make it through the night.

in 8 years of keeping oscars ive never seen them beat up anything bigger than them especially a arowana

im really peed off as oscars are not suppose to eat anything they cant fit into their mouths let alone sumthing three times their size.

im trying to get a pic of the arowana but with all the meth blue in the tank i cant really get a nice pic.

i thought id tell you guys this just so that people know how unpredictable oscars can be.

man my hart is aching as i really love my fish and i can see my arowana is not gonna make it.

anyway ill keep u guys posted.

Maybe he was just attacking the Arowana, not trying to eat it.

Some Arowana and Oscars come from the same part of the world. However, keeping them together successfully does require a pretty big tank. I think fish like room to move around, they probably will get a lot more aggressive if they are bumping into each other all the time

I came down this morning to see 1 of my snake heads at the front door,thats 2 rooms from its tank.Picked it up it looked dead,i rememberd reading these things come back to life so i popped it in the tank.Nothing for 2mins then a crap load of bubbles and gill movement.I went to work come back 30 mins ago its swimming round nothing up with it.Ino it's not on the same lines as you vbaby but it shows they can pull through somtimes and fingers crossed you're arowana will pull through.Just whilst you're here what do you think to pike cichlids as tank mates to oscars?

Pike cichlids are long and thin, so if you get one make sure it is a decent size and wont fit in your oscars mouth otherwise it will end up as dinner. As far as anything else like aggression i cant help you

Man, i'm sorry about that. I'm sure your not having a very good day... Are you sure it was te oscars that did, and not something else. Oscars are so unpredictable. And so are aros. I've seen aros eat oscars...and not just juvies.

Hope the aro makes it, i know those things are expensive, and very cool fish.

For those of u intereted:its been 24hours since my aro was attached by my oscars and my ARO is still alive,he still look terrable but swims around his tank like he is the king of the world. he's eyes have cum out of the sockets now which is a good sign as yesterday he's eyes were pulled back so far into his skull that u could bairly see them.

im trying to be positive about this situation as agression is a possabillity when keeping ARO'S & Oscars together.

im sure just like me he is trying his best to make it through this.

afterall ARO'S have made it through hundreds of years all the way 4rm the dinosaur age so they must be pretty hardy.

Id of said he will be ok if he's acting the way he is.Hope he is ok in the end please let us know vbaby.

I can't believe the damage they have done thats unbelievable and thats from a fish with no reall teeth.Have a kalma vbaby try make you feel better.They've took a serious chunk out of the poor arawona,haven't they!!!

yup its worse than the pics look ive got him eating now all im hoping is to catch him shit,coz if he eats shits,and swims around then im sure the O's missed his vital organs,the missing scales,gill & fin damage is allready starting 2 heal only after 48hours,now im just waiting for the poo to come then ill be happy and be able to get sum sleep as i dont like my fish being un happy.
