Does anyone have any experience with Bichirs with Oscars?

I have never had a Bichir, but their are an interesting fish. I appreciate your thoughts on this subject.

I have? The Dragonfin or the Polypterus senegalus is ok to put with oscars and probably other bichirs too.

a tiny bichir may be at risk of getting eaten by a bigger O, but i've heard of folks keeping them together at compatible sizes, and they get along fine.

Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

My Bichir and two Oscars get along very well. They eat similar foods e.g. prawns, mussels etc. I have had no conflicts between them at all. Just wouldnt advise getting one small enough to fit in the Oscars mouth as you know how oscars are.

Here is a video I found on Youtube that displays an Ornate Bichir. (for those that hadn't seen or heard of one)

*And for those who do have experience with them...how do you pronounce Bichir? (Bee-Cher), (Biker), (Bi-Chir), etc. ???

Cool vid, didnt think they got that active. Mine just lurks round in dark gaps between and under some slate.

Ive also seen a vid in the gallery section of one underneath the sand with just its head poking out, cool creatures
