First, I LOVE MY PLECO !!!

Second, Noddy I know you can understand what I'm dealing with but you take the good with the bad!

J. Edgar Hoover is my Pleco that is currently enjoying his life in his nice big tank with his Oscar and JD tank mates. There is always plenty of food to eat. Every now and again I give him 1/2.. HALF.. of a potatoe to eat (no skin). The next day this is what I have... please notice in the first pic that the poop is still coming out of him!







Luckily I have a great filter system... plus I swear he goes back and eats it after in some cases!??! Major ewww factor!

Ha! No I knew they were poopers... my other Plecos never made their poop quite so long though!

plecs normally do the cleaning of the tank and this is where the common
mistake starts. they never count plecs as contributory in bioloads as
they grew. i am not fond of plecs for they became menace in our local
tributaries and presently beyond control of our aquatic authority

Well Paul, that means you could get your pleco for free! Just go down to the river and net one.

For me, I haven't had my 10 inch pleco poop like that. I am lucky so i guess; trying to keep the poop with in reason.

My Norman is a pooper too. In fact he makes more of a mess than the Oscar, EBJD, and Pictus combined. Greg hates the fish because he craps so much, but I've always liked plecos, so Norman stays. Plus it's funny to watch him and Sherman taunt each other. "I'm not touching you, I'm not touching you...." Or their favorite - "I'm on your side, now I'm not. I'm on your side again, now I'm not!" LMAO

I was within inches of selling my 10 inch Pleco last week. I put him on craigslist and a guy desperately wanted him, but my wife talked some sense to me and said we can't get rid of the Pleco. So I decided to keep him. He has grown on me thats for sure.

I have always had Pleco's in my tanks... and I am aware of their pooping abilities and quantities. But this guy can string out the longest poops I have ever seen!!! Isnt' this nice of me to share my poop??
