sorry I can't identify those. i don't think I have seen them before but then again the pics a little blurred. they look more like cichlids to me though not loach? hope someone can throw more light on what they are.

i wasnt with my hubby when he purchased them so i have no idea what they are! lol he said they told him they were loaches...

all loaches do have a catfish-like beard threads (if that's correct English?)
i wouldn't know what fish these are, but i like them very much.
I'm sure some of the other members will know what fish these are.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

I think they're called "Barbels"

definitely not a loach. loaches mouths are on the bottom; not up in the middle of their face (if that makes sense)

Its amazing what some of these reps at fish stores tell people.
Those are no where near loaches. They look more like an african cichlid, kind of like a bumble bee cichlid. Whatever they are they look pretty cool.

Are they juveniles or are they older?
I think the reddish color may become more pronounced as the fish matures.

look along the lines of lake malawi, something i think to do with "Pseudotropheus" possibally Pseudotropheus crabro......It looks like it has the false egg spots on the fins?
