Hey all... but especially my Pleco expert Noddy!

Noddy, this is what they are doing to the Pleco. He has 2 different hiding places that he could go to but he doesn't. Actually he does but it takes a bit of them picking on him before he will do it.

The new baby, Opie building a little wall trying to keep the big fish out of his corner! It is very cute!!

I love the P on his tail !

This video shows a littl more Pleco picking... the Jack Dempsey's big mouth and the Oscar showing the air hose and the rest of the tank who is boss !

Yeah my oscar eyeballs my plec really closely when he's suckered on to the glass...sometimes he rubs up against him, but mainly he eyeballs him and occasionally gives him a quick nip. The plec usually shrugs it off and either shoos him away or retreats somewhere else. I definitely think the Oscar doesn't like him on his side of the tank..they've got a clearly delineated territory...but sometimes I think the oscar is simply curious...they're very inquisitive fish.

Good thing is the oscar just floats around the upper tank at night...he pretty much lets the plec work the night shift in peace.

my oscars are totally cool with my pleco.
They will investigate from real close what the pleco is doing, but they don't dare to tease him.
The Vieja i had was a different story.
She kept bumping into the zuchinni, while the pleco was sucking on that.
It only took the pleco some time to get upset with the Vieja and jabbed at the Vieja and chased it away, even chasing it through the open space of the tank!!!
that's the only occasion i ever saw my pleco swimming and chasing without using the gravel or glass to move over.

like i told you before, the pleco is factually a living tank with hardly any weak spots.
As long as the other fish do not attack it's eyes, he'll be fine.
Nice vids. B.
Good way to start my sunday morning.
Love the way Opie is making his own corner.
My o's never moved gravel and just started doing that very recently...

And nice tank.

Ya know that ya mean, my last O hated Pleco, tryed to eat one, had to chase her around the tank to get her to spit it out....The Pleco didn`t make it.

i beg to differ, your o didn't hate the pleco, he loved it...for food.
Believe me i know the horror stories.

you do need a considerable size difference for the pleco not to be at risk of being eaten.
btw you were lucky your o survived, the one in the pics didn't meke it, along with the pleco...

LOL Noddy.

Sorry you lost the O and Pleco.

Only reason I think my O lived was she got the Pleco tail first, and I saw it, so got her to spit it out right after..
Still scared me.

true, if the pleco goes in head first, it's defence mechanism will make the pleco expand the spiny fins and put them in lock mode, and it will be stuck in the throat of the other fish.
Thanx for your concern, but luckily it's not my o and pleco in the pic, just an axample from my database!

on the database, I`ll have to remember that.

Good to hear it didn`t happen to your fish..
I`ve read they can do that. ( Pleco ) but never seen it, thank God.

My plec is about the same size as my Oscar...they're both around 9 inches or so...hence no 'issues'.
