I think it's about time I introduce fish family now that the tank is complete. I couldn’t snap a clear pic of my Oscar, but he’s about 4 month old.
The tank is a 125g with a homemade stand. In the tank there are 7 danios, which are slowly disappearing. They were dither fish, and are lasting much longer than expected. 1 red severum. 4 baby hero (Rotkeil) severums, which I’m very happy haven’t gotten eaten, and 1 oscar.
Once the severums reach maturity, I’m hoping to get a matching pair and the others will go off to a new home. (Or a new tank)

Very nice looking tank and fish. If I may make a suggestion.... your substrate is quite thick. Comes a point where thick gravel only becomes a "crap trap" and will significantly contribute to decaying water quality. Good luck with the Sevs. I have an m/f pair, they put on the breeding colors and dance around quite often, but no wee ones yet. Its been over 2 yrs!

It’s amazing how quickly one aquarium can become many aquariums. I wanted a second aquarium as a side project, so I decided to breed my own feeders.
At first I was doing danios, but needed a 3rd tank just as a breeder tank, so scrapped that idea and switched it up for fresh water shrimp. Amazing animals and fun to watch, but I was worried they would be too small and many would end up in my filter when introduced to my Oscar tank, so now I’ve moved on to marble crayfish. A very interesting animal also. All female and self reproducing. I should be overrun with them within 6 months so I can freeze some, sell some, and still have plenty left over as treats for my main tank. 2 were berried (carrying eggs) when I received them, and one has already given birth within a week. Not sure if the baby picture is a shrimp or crayfish. Till the tank gets over populated, they should coexist peacefully.

That's cool. Always nice having the babies no matter what kind of animal. Used to love when my fish had babies.

Any chance you can send me the blueprints to your fish tank stand? Looks pretty awesome to me, lol. I'm a wood worker myself, and I can definitely see some great craftsmanship there! The fish tank looks really nice as well. Makes me jealous cause I really want a bigger tank, lol
