i would have to agree with that. the only thing i find discouraging about clown loaches is the time it takes for them to grow to a decent size.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

extremely slow growing fish. I have had my two big ones since 2005 and they have probably only grown an extra inch since then. I got another two in 2006, they were probably an inch long then, they are now around 4 inches. I dread to think how long they take to reach 12 inches, probably about 25 years mind you, some say they can live for 50, even 80 years. Mind you, Masheer can live for over 100 years so I don't see why CL can't be the same?

I should add that these fish are extremely social and must be kept in groups. They don't like being on their own in a tank, it can stress them a lot. Mine are always together as you can see

Hmm not so cute when they poke you! But you have some very nice clowns Penn! I used to have one, i was not aware that they were social fish at that time. He didn't live very long That was years ago, mind you

I once heard that one koi lived around 264 years before passing away... it lived in a small pond that was supplied by pure glacier water from a nearby mountain, which would explain it's long-livity. I think one of it's pond-mates lived around 180 years, as well.

btw, i have always wanted a mahseer! no room for a massive fish like that tho

my clown didnt live very long either, maybe that was due to lack of a friend?

i find Kuhlis to be far more entertaining though.
how they do figure eights up and down the side of tank...lol

mine did that, but if you leave the light off early in the morning or late at night, you might get to see them play!

i dont think they like light, but if you have a dim one on outside the tank you should be able to catch them doing their figure eights.

and their fast to catch!!!!

Yeah they are fast. I have about 10 in a tank I acquired, and my mom wanted 2. So I had to catch them. LOL. I was wet!
