Congratz.
How much did you pay for it and is this the kind that will grow very big?
I hate to say it but i paid £650.00 ($1100.00 US)the owner wanted £750.00 going rate in UK is around £1200. for a 12" so I got a very good deal.
it should reach around 28" max I would expect 24" and live for around 20-25yrs.
oscar has started to accept it already. arowana has a small (not deep) scrape on its head from over night scrap, but has now found new courage at dinner time. its feeding well on crickets and meal worm. don't seem to want to know about pellets at all. i am surprised at how active it is, always moving very close to the surface even in the dark. spend all day at the surface the day I got it but has now moved to mid water too.
My plan now is to put a 500-1000L (size dependent) water butt behind the wall of the tank (garage attacked to house). from this i will run a power head, a bit like a sump without any media too give alot of leeway with water changes. These fish don't like drastic change in water PH, or even large drop in nitrate levels. i have 2 FX5's running so don't need any extra filter bio. this should give me the equivalent tank volume of 250-400g without the wife throwing me out for taking over the home with tanks.
yes I asked if I could buy OFL's 300g. she said "yeah when you have got rid of that one"

Paul that luck better start working soon mate. Lucky dragon fish glad you all like it, ill put some pic's up soon. its a bugger to catch in view it moves so much, thats why i done the video
