lol forget the goldfish, id have taht baby in atleast a 55gallon tank till it was 6-7" before even considering puttin it with other fish... lol i dont know how they run where your at but here they are rediculously expensive, like 150 dollars per fish for common silvers, the jardini's like yours cost a fair bit more. i have never kept this fish... but now having the tank cappacity to handle a fully grown one, i will have one at my first chance.

i forgot to mention this in my first reply, but that little tank with the goldfish in it isng going to do forever lol. what do you plan on putting the lil feller in when its bigger?

Very sweet fish.
They sell them that small for about 50 euros, but he wouldn't last long in my Oscars tank either.
Please take care to seal and lock off your tank at all times, when you're not around.
I handfeed my o as well , but keep my fingers in the water, to keep him from jumping.
He hardly ever jumps anymore.
Would be a big shame if your fish jumped out of the tank, he's so pretty.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

Awesome fish

In AUS from what I've seen Aro's arnt that expensive... Although Ive only seen the Australian and silver variety.

One of my local fish shops has a big Silver think he'd be just under 2feet for $800AUD, he's been there for months and looks worse for wear; 1 drop eye and torn fins although alot of the fish there look like that.. out the back where special customers get to go look at the rare and expensive fish theres a smaller silver for $600... One of the boys who works there owned him and didnt want it anymore.

They had an Australian around 6" or so for $200, he sold in 2 days

I cant wait till my 8ft project is done and I own one.

So I keep seeing the Aro's are really expensive, but there's a 3 foot one at my LFS for $129.00... I've also see some little 3"-4" ones at another place for $40. I guess if you want one you should come over to Oregon.

i saw a tiny silver aro for 20 dollars one time, and thats the only one ive ever seen for sale. id have bought it if i had a place that it could grow up in but at the time i knew a 55 gallon would never work for it in the long run so i passed on it.
