Hello i got this little guy the other month, 2nd mbu i have owned since keeping fish.
he is very camera shy so the photos were quickly taken by my mobile.

he enjoys muscles, squid, prawns e.t.c and is very greedy and he is about 9 inches at the moment.
before anyone says anything about how big mbu puffers get, yes i am aware of the size tank needed and the size these reach, at the moment he is in a 6x2x2 for about 2 months and then he will be in his new 10 footer

I have always thought puffers to be a strange fish, with the big body and little tail, also a ET face )))

very healthy looking and beautifull fish.
I love puffers and had a dwarf puffer before.
Now i have 2 Green Spotted Puffers and currently in the proces of making the tank brackish.
Now that's gonna be one hell of a tank, a ten footer.
Is it gonna be a Single specimen tank?

Thanks for the comments.......yes you have to love the ET looking face, and they are always intrested watching what you are doing.
Hummmmm.....very good question about the ten footer, i would like it just to be for him....but you know what always happens, just go looking at you local fish shop and always come away with somthing!!!!!
but i think i might add other fish like congo tetra or somthing just to stop him from being board.
good luck with making the tank brackish, how is it coming on????

I'm only in the second week. Trying to add no more then .002 SG a week.
I used a cycled HOB and a new Eheim 2213 canister added to that.
The tank is 40Gl and the fish seem to love the salty water.
They behaved the first week by inspecting the whole tank again, as if they were in new territory.
on tankmates, MBUs seem to have very different characters, from very aggressive to timid. things could work out fine, but could also go very wrong.

yes do do love their brackish water
the last mbu i had was miles apart from this one, but one day they could snap so it is kinda hard to tell.
my freind had a fahaka puffer really nice to others and one day he woke up and all his fish were missing or were in pices scattered over his tank!!!!

At a lfs in my hometown they sold a Fahaka once.
They put up a sign, saying:
Fahaka puffer, will kill all tankmates,
will eat childrens fingers.
