There is no doubt in my mind that fish have long term memory.
The Mythbusters tried to show it ... but owning a fish long enough, people can see it for themselves.
My O knows his treat containers, even if I haven't given him any of it for more than a month. He knows who is who, what color bag of food he likes best. My bettas also have great memory retention.
Animals deserve
far more credit than most people give them. And, this is not a religious statement, but I find a lot of darwinists/evolutionists try to give animals far less credit to try and raise the status of humans ... though, I feel we may not be the most intelligent species, just morons with weapons and advanced tools. Some people cannot just accept the beauty of life without the need to try and feel superior.
I have seen enough through various information sources that have concluded this to me. Emotion, memory, empathy. In my lifetime I have experienced it all with different species.
Glad to see more people starting to see and understand this as the truth.
I won't even get into the hypocrisy of science. That is for another forum
