I love food, try not to eat too much, don't want to be the size of a house.
I'm having a lovely pork chop tonight, and no I don't discard the fat, that is one of the best part of it. Roasted in the oven for a bit longer, it is really crunchy, absolutely delightful.
Fish, I love fish. I eat quite a bit of salmon. Steamed, cooked in the oven or fried, doesn't make any difference, it just melts in your mouth.
My mom's home-made shepherd's pie. Always liked it, she still makes it now.
Chicken. A little bit boring but really nice in the stirfry. Actually, had it last night
Kidneys and liver. Lots of people hate it, I love it, especially when done with bacon mash potato
And finally, a good old sausage, or snag as I think I have heard them referred to in Australia. Well, on neighbours actually. (I no, just admitted I watch Neighbours). Anyway, back to sausages, I only eat good-quality ones, after watching a programme about what they put in the cheap sausages, I would never eat one again.
There are some of my favourite food

Typical Americans we are...
Pizza
More Pizza.
Chicken Parmigianna w/ Pasta
Cheese Burgers and Fries
Pizza
General Chao's Chicken w/ Fried Rice
Sweet &Sour Chicken w/ Fried Rice
Chicken, Fried or Roasted
Snow Crab legs - King Crab Legs
Steamed Little Neck Clams
Lots of Coffee, with the Caffeine please, but not the Starbucks strong stuff..
(Dunkin' Donuts is best - coffee)
Pizza
Sam Adams Lager Beer - My favorite brew of all time
Italian food in geeneral
Chinese food in general
Fast food in general (can and should I admit that?)
STEAKS, N.Y. Strip Steak or T-Bone steak, Medium Rare for me
Gee, this made me hungry, I wonder what's for dinner now.......
P.S. Our Meatloaf must be like your sausage. You never order it out and only eat it home made. Meatballs too are void of much meat of any kind unless they are home made. By content, they would have to be called Bread balls...

Well at least the clams and crab are the healthy option
Talking about crabs, have you ever seen that documentary series called "The Deadliest Catch?" you can see how your crabs are caught. Bloody hard dangerous work, but don't they get some money

Nope, it's all negated by the copious amounts of drawn melted butter used for dipping.... Boy is that good!

Yes, its one of the most dangerous careers to have and that is exactly why those crabs are so darned expensive. They need to figure a way to farm them in large tanks etc.

I don't eat it but a few times a year and most times that's at a seafood restaraunt chain like Red Lobster. It's in the range of $20 to $25 US for a decent serving, or sometimes you find all you can eat buffets for a similar price too.
I was on Atkins diet once or twice before and the Crab is great because you can have the butter too... It wouldn't nearly be the same without the butter....
(I took 60 pounds off once via Atkins so it does work.)

The big question is, have you managed to stay that weight, or have you put that sixty pounds back on? I think that's the problem of diets, as soon as you go back to eating normal food, the weight gets put back on. Anyway, you are making me feel extremely hungry. I absolutely adore seafood. I suppose you live in a place where there are lots of different restaurants and takeaways, after all, they have got to keep up with all the different types of race that live in New York.
If you like your food, I'm afraid you would find Brixham rather boring. All we have got here is a couple of Chinese takeaways and an Indian. Any shop that sells manky pizzas. Mind you, spicy food gives me incredible abdominal pain so I have to stick to a mild stuff like chicken corners.

Yes, the area between NY and Philadelphia is quite populated for the most part and we have every cuisine available within a short drive. I am like you, I avoid the spices and I do not eat Mexican foods at all. I am not into Indian food either and as for Pizza, there's a Pizza shop on every other corner it seems, yet most are substandard in my opinion. But there are a few better ones and many Italian dinner places too. Do you ever get over to the States?
and no, the weight went back on but took 2 years to do so....

No, never been to the United States. My mom has, she went to New York a couple of years ago.
Up until a few months ago, I was engaged to a girl from Phoenix, Arizona. Unfortunately, that didn't work out.
So you live in New Jersey? How far as that from New York City?
Probably won't be back on tonight, going to get some sleep.

I'm about 70-75 minutes southwest of NYC and about 70-75 minutes northeast of Philadelphia. I live almost directly in the center of NJ looking both north to south and east to west too. I rarely go to either city as I am not a fan of big cities and the crime plus traffic lingers in my mind. Besides in the suburban areas in between, we have it all anyway. Yet I myself live in a country area and I get a herd of wild deer in my yard almost daily, I see a flock of wild turkey visiting about 10-15 times a year or more, we get hawks, owls, an occasional osprey, plus there are wild fox around and the occasional black bear too who are making a comeback to this area. I haven't seen the bear yet but there have been reports in the local area. I much prefer the country yet we can drive but 10 minutes away and have all the traffic you want....
I myself (nor my wife) have been out of the USA either although this August she and I are spending 6 nights at a resort about 30 minutes south of Cancun Mexico, called Excellence. I have two adult daughters still living home, one is graduated from College and is an Elementary teacher and the other has but another 1/2 semester to go for a teaching degree too. She is currently living away in PA at school but will be home soon for the Summer. (Last year, my wife and I did a caribbean cruise for our 25th Anniversary, so technically that counts as being out of the Country. We visited St. Thomas, St. Martin, Labadee Haiti which is Royal Caribbean's private resort and we visited San Juan PR too. That was very nice and relaxing, 9 night cruise which departed right from NJ here.)
Let's see, yesterday you made me hungry and now today you have me yearning for a vacation.....

I couldn't live in a big city. I have lived in this part of the world since I was 11 years old. Brixham is part of district called Torbay. Torbay is made up of three towns, none of them that big. It really is beautiful here, I have a wonderful view of the sea which I would miss terribly if I ever moved away.
We used to have bear in the UK, but I think they died out a few hundred years ago. Somebody on one of the other forum I frequent occasionally posted some photographs of a black bear they shot with a bow and arrow. It was a very sad sight. I just could not bring myself to kill an animal like that. I even put fish back in the sea unless they are mackerel that I'm going to use for bait. We also used to have wolves as well. I don't think this country is big enough to have wild animals like that. Mind you, we have a lot of forest.
Anyway, had a nice piece of meat pie this evening, my mother made it for me. Lovely beef with lots of nice pastry. Chips and vegetables. Really enjoyed it.
I was thinking about that crab, I really fancy some crab. Have you ever seen castaway before, the one with Tom Hanks? At the very end, he is walking around the room where there is going to be a party. He picks up a whacking great crab claw, I imagine that is a king crab. Certainly looks like a lot of meet in them anyway. We get what we call edible crabs here. They are very tasty and the males have absolutely huge claws. There's probably more meat in their claws than anywhere else. But they really are very tasty indeed. In fact, before my accident, I used to work on a crab fishing boats. Bloody painful when they grab hold of your finger.

Yea, quite ironic them throwing a welcome home party for him with nothing but the best etc. and him not even wanting to look at another crab leg ever again I would imagine. I myself am a big movie buff, I really enjoy drama's, mysteries, horror films (not sci-fi as much) history (Civil War, American revolution etc.).
Too bad about your accident? Dit you get injured on the boat? Fishing is a tough life, no matter what the catch is. Crabbing is the worst though.. Like you, I don't hunt and I don't even fish any more. I am content to capture wildlife in pictures.
Just today I had a small flock of wild turkey in my yard with a male spreading his feathers like a post card. I ran for my camera because there were deer in the picture too but by the time I got ready the deer moved out of the shot. I"ll post a turkey in a while.. (I love to eat turkey too, not just for American Thanksgiving either.) but not these as they are "gamey" I'm sure..
