Here at my house we have a love of all things zombie (well, my 12yr old does at least). Not the super gory sick zombies, more of the funny and cheesy variety, with a bit of the scary kind. Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, original Night of the Living Dead, Resident Evil, 28 Days Later, you know that kind of stuff.

The other night my son asked me where I would go if a zombie apocalypse happened. I sat and thought about it for a minute, and then decided that I would hole up in my local Fred Meyer. (For those of you who don't live in the PNW, that would be like a Kroger Marketplace store, or a Super Walmart. Groceries, apparel, electronics, pharmacy, sporting goods, etc etc.) He asked why would I go there? Because I work there? I said no, I'd go because it would be relatively easy to defend, and it's got everything I need. The pharmacy is completely enclosed. It has 3 walls, a taller-than-waist-high counter, and a pull down gate that locks. Plus it's got meds if we need them! We can gather food, get the guns and ammo from sporting goods, and all manner of camping gear as well, extra clothes, and emergency radios. I think the only weak point in the pharmacy would be the drive-thru window. But I'm pretty sure we can board that up with pallets from the back stockroom.

Why not my own home? I've got plenty of guns and food, but there are so many windows in my house it's ridiculous. Even my basement has a ton of windows! That's what I get for living in an old ass house that faces the bay.

So the point of this is - I'm curious about where you would go if you were faced with a zombie apocalypse. No BS answers either. I want you to seriously sit and contemplate where you would go and how you would survive. We're weirdos at my house, what can I say?

Well thanks for humoring me Noddy. I loved the zombiephile site. Good find! Found a website on there, where they make creepy teddy bear statues. I see Christmas gifts in the near future! LOL

Jenni, I like your idea. I would be going for a big truck first, like a ford f350 and up. then I would be going for guns, and of course I would go to walmart, and sportsmans warehouse, and dicks sporting goods, AND JAX (where they sell ar-15's and more military surplus then a man could dream of) Then I be going for a safe house, and of course I would go to walmart, because they have only 4 doors to get into the place, and it has a green house, and a huge supply of food, and a garden section where I could plant seeds and grow my own food so I don't starve. Then once I have all that secured I would go to fort collins (town next to mine) where there is another jax, and a gun store that sells m-16s, mac-11's, m14's, ak-47's, mp5's, pretty much every gun you can thinks of. And once all that is done I would go to the loveland police department, and every police cruiser here has a m4 and a m1014 in between the seats. Then I would be going to ace hardware and liquor stores, at ace hardware I can get pvc pipes to make pipe bombs with (and they also sell guns), and at liquor stores I can get alcohol to make Molotov cocktails. Then I would be trying to broadcast on the radio that I have a safe house setup and anybody is welcome. p.s (sorry but i forgot this) I would be leaving notes on the doors of the guns shop and all the other places I went, saying where I am and having directions to my safe house.

That is my plan pretty awesome huh?, but wait I have another one.

I would be using my plum sword until I can get to my grandparents house, and there I would grab my grandpa's Mauser 30-06 and his entire arsenal. and hope fully there camper (THIS THING IS FRIGGIN HUGE) is still there, if so I would either use there truck, or if it is gone get another one (this is colorado, there are trucks everywhere) and take his camper, then find food, and ammo, then try to find a smaller civilization of people.

I know I have to much time on my hands.

edit: Ooh wait, I forgot there is still the airforce base about55 miles away from my house.

where would we go if there was a zombie attack? we'd pack up the trailer with the dogs, guns and food and head for the hills!

Zombieland is an awesome movie - if you haven't seen it yet - I highly recommend it.... very humorous. Don't forget to double-tap.

It's time to nut up or shut up.

Still have yet to see Zombieland...need to get on that. My personal favs are the original Day of the Dead and Return of the Living Dead (awesome soundtrack too). Lucio Fulci's Zombie 2 and City of the Living Dead are great as well. Love that 70s/80s Fulci stuff...brutal. Oh, and the Father's Day segment of the Great 'Creepshow.'
