X2!!!

I can still remember EXACTLY where I was, EXACTLY what I was doing, and EXACTLY how I felt!

I just hope that those who lost their lives have found forever peace, and their loved ones have found comfort...

The 9/11 attacks are our generation's "Kennedy" moment. My mother can remember exactly where she was and what she was doing when it was announced that Kennedy had been shot. I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard that a plane had hit the World Trade Center.
If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people happy?

Don't know about you guys but even though I have watched those planes hit those buildings hundreds of time, I can never get past the shock, disbelief and despair. It's like you just keep hoping it was a bad dream that only you had.

I have possibly seen every documentary or program about it over the years...and it never ceases to amaze me every single time.
The way that human instinct took over and everybody was out to help each other is amazing to.
The sad thing is tho something like this will happen again to the US or the UK.
I think we got off very lightly with the 7/7 bombs in london...compared to the WTC anyway...

Yes, I remember exactly what I was doing, it was about two o'clock in the afternoon when I had just put the television on in my exercise room and the first tower had been hit. And then within a few minutes the second plane hit and that was totally live as I was watching. At first, I just thought it was a fire, but as soon as the second plane hit, I knew straight away that it was a terrorist attack.

The really sad thing is that many of the people who survived have now developed horrible illnesses on cancers due to all the toxins that were contained in the debris and smoke.

As everyone does, I also remember where I was. I was at our fire department cleaning the ambulance. My chief had brought in some breakfast and we sat down to eat while watching tv. Then in happen... 8:46 am. Then again, as we watched the replay of the first horor - right there live on TV - the 2nd horor at 9:03 am. Our lives changed forever. Our firefighters immediately gathered at the station... ready to go. We sent 5 to NY to help with what started as a search and rescue but turned into a recovery. Those 5 men came back different men.

I worked for John Hancock at the time and spoke daily to people at Cantor Fitzgerald. Although I had never met them in person, I knew their names and pieces of their lives. It was difficult working in the weeks and months that passed because they were gone... one day they were all there, the next day they were not.

I hope we never forget that day, never forget the families, friends, co-workers, firefighters, police... everyone who was there... everyone who lost their lives... everyone who helped in the aftermath... and everyone still working to rebuild NY.

Lastly, may we NEVER, EVER stop searching for the ultimate evil, the man who was behind this horor... bring him to justice and let the USA take care of him!

I remember where I was too. I was in college at the time. I was over had my girlfriends apartment across from the FSU. Her 2 roomates came running up the stairs to tell us to look at the TV. I couldn't believe what I saw.

Like Staffie, I have watched many documentary films on the attack. It always makes me cringe. It seems that our security has done a decent job since then in the states to keep that from happening again. I bet their have been many other attempts that have been intercepted... and we will never know about them. (probably better that way)
