6 1/2 years does seem rather harsh. Yes, it was despicable behavior telling her sons that their father was dead when he wasn't. However when you compare 6 1/2 years for fraud to 4 years for a speeding drink drive killer, I think I would be a little bit pissed off if I was the Darwin's

I am amazed he lived next door to his wife and no one noticed?? If it was a farm ok, but there where other houses close by. and yes sentencing in the uk is very poor. It seems if you are a pro crook then the law is light on you cos they dont want to fill prison up. We need more prisons as baddly as we need new homes. there are many islands in scotland that could hold many a crook and make the world a better place for the innocent folk. Me and my mate often have this discussion about prisons. If we were in charge of prisons, they wouldn't be allowed to have televisions, radios. The glass would be removed from the Windows and iron bars would be put there like the old days. They wouldn't get three square meals a day, it would be bread and milk or water and maybe some butter and cheese.

Prisons are too cozy, some prisoners actually offend to get back into prison because it's better inside than outside. If you make it so incredibly horrible for them, they wouldn't want to go back so you wouldn't offend again. I don't know if you watch that program, America's hardest prisons? They make our prisons look like a holiday camp. What about prisons in Africa, Asia, the Far East, not the sort of place you'd want to spend very long in.

With you all the way. I would have inmates up at 6 digging holes 6x6x6ft. if there hole dont reach the size needed, NO food. When the hole is dug they refill ready for next days digging. And that will be there life antill release. I wont tell you my plan for the very nasty people but it involes removing bits that will stop them doing it again. Why do we have to put up with so many reaffenders.
