Well, I'm not happy, in fact, I am bloody fuming

The company that are adapting my brand new Mercedes sprinter van have crashed it. I was supposed to be receiving it this week, not sure what it's going to happen now. So, as far as I'm concerned, it is now second-hand vehicle that has been in an accident, I am going to be looking for a considerable amount of money deducted off it.

Thats a shame Penn..

Nothing much you can do about it I suppose.
I drove a Sprinter a few times here in the US and it handled nicely for such a tall vehicle. (It was an ambulance).

I guess you bought the truck and provided it to the other company for modification? If I were you, I would demand that the mercedes factory dealer complete the repairs, especially since its brand new. Otherwise this other comppany will shop it to a low bidder for repair.

I am a little calmer. I really can't believe it, I waited all this time, Mercedes take six months to deliver the car. The people who are adapting it take another six months to complete the work so I can drive it, and then three days before they deliver it to me, they go and crash it. I reckon the keystone cops are working on the vehicle, and laurel and Hardy were running the show.

The company who are adapting the vehicle called Adaptacar. They should have gone straight back to the Mercedes dealer and told them what happened. Instead, they put the car into a little body repair shop. The Mercedes dealership still own the vehicle, I haven't bought it yet, they are less than happy about what has happened. I think they want the vehicle in their own workshop. Anyway, we're having an independent assessor going to have a look at the damage and give us his verdict. Least I will get an honest assessment then. At the end of the day, is it fair that I should pay the full £26,000 that the actual vehicle is costing? I'm sure that many cars receive damage before they are sold on. They are normally repaired and new owners are none the wiser. However, I do know about the damage, and I think it is a little worse than most cars would receive.

This is a difficult situation. In your eyes it is no longer brand new. In their eyes it can be repaired. So you and them are gonna have to compromise on a discount and neither is gonna be 100% happy. You aint cause altho you got it cheaper it aint sparkling new anymore, them cause even tho they repaired it they are gonna have to give you a discount. Bit sneaky of them to take it to a body repair shop thats down the road( cheaper), however as long as its insurer approved that is the sort of place insurance company send new stuff too so it cant be that bad

The Mercedes dealership which I am getting my card from are non-too pleased that the garage took it upon themselves to take the vehicle to a local garage. What you have got to remember is that the Mercedes dealership still own the vehicle, I haven't bought it yet. So if anything goes wrong , i.e. an accident, it is up to the Mercedes dealership to put it right.

You are quite correct, I am rather dismayed that I will be buying a vehicle that has been in an accident, even if it doesn't lookLike it has. The way I look at it is I have actually had vehicle commission just for me, it has been built from me and nobody else. It's not as if I am yet to choose the vehicle from a showroom. I totally agree with what you say, if a brand new vehicle husband and said or damaged, they will just put it right and sent her time as a Banja vehicle. However, if every vehicle that had been damaged had a sign on it telling potential new owners what had happened, they probably wouldn't stand much of a chance of something that car for its full price. Since I know about the damage, I think they should knock some money off. I am certainly not happy part in the full price now, I don't care how good the job they do fixing it, it's not in pristine condition any more. Anyway, I'm hoping that they will get on with it. We are having an independent assessor look at the damage so that there is no bias anywhere. One day I will get my vehicle
