Nina_W created the topic: moved thread makes new topics go awry

Is it just me, or whenever a thread is moved, the new topics thing goes a bit awry? In stead of just one green notice, it counts every moved thread as a new topic on the main meny (so it will say (8 new) next to the name on the main forum menu) but when you click on the forum to see what these 8 new threads are, there is nothing new in there.

It doesn't update right either, for the rest of my session it will do this. It will also do this even if you go and read the new topic where it was moved to - still shows up as new on the forum menu.

I hope this makes sense.

I am not quite follow the new Nina. I have just moved this thread from "feature request" to "off topic" as I just said "one new message" when I went into off topic, I didn't see anything that looks out of place.

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

are you unchecking the "leave shadow topic pointing to new location" button before you move the topic?

Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

Sorry guys, I know that was confusing.

Of course, it's stopped for the moment. Next time I (or someone else) moves a thread, I'll put up a screenshot here and revive this.

I moved quite a few lately, (and didn't uncheck the "leave shadow" button) but nothing odd happened...
I'm not sure what happened in your case.

Should the "leave shadow"-button be unchecked???

but there is also something odd happening in the site...
originally, whenever you click the "recent topics" button,
you were directed to the most recent post page.... but today...
when i was on page 3 of new post, i click the said button and
i was still on page 3... not on page 1....

anyone notice that?

This problem is not isolated to just Oscarfishlover.com. I just tried doing the same on the kunena support forum and exactly the same thing happens there. I have mentioned something on their forum so we will see what they say

right, so I am back with screenshots.

This is what my forum menu looks like at the moment:

Seems normal? Well, that (1 New) message marked with the red arrow is a lie. Here's the inside of that category:

No new message or topics of any kind.

This happens every time a topic gets moved for me (in this case the 'bloated EBJD' one) - the place where the topic was moved from (the central american cichlids category, in this case) keeps showing up that it has (1 New) in it, but there's nothing new there.

This is a consistent thing.
