OFL created the topic: Advice on the iPod touch fifth generation

I bought myself an iPod fifth generation a few weeks ago and I'm still trying to get my head around it. Sometimes when I switch on, when I touch one of the icons nothing happens. Has it got a setting somewhere that enables you to stop the touchpad working? It does get quite annoying sometimes. Also, I can't find anywhere that tells you what percentage the battery is at.

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

There's no setting to disable the touchpad. Have you tried to reboot it?

You can't see the battery percentage on the itouch.

If I can't get to music for instance when touching one of the icons, I will press the round button and sometimes it will work, that's why a thought maybe it had a setting that stops you from accidentally pressing the buttons. Yes, I actually found some information regarding the percentage of the battery, that's annoying, it would have been handy to know. I haven't made my mind up how much I like this iPod yet. I have however managed to pair it up to my Bluetooth stereo system in my room, and also in my car, but an Alpine stereo and it works really well, I'm quite pleased about that because that's one of the reasons I wanted it for. Doesn't have to be your actual finger that touches the icon, or does it just work from any warm part of your body, i.e. the side of your finger or hand?

I find that it is more about pressure rather than any part of the body. I've used a stylus (rubber point) on the itouch, and if I don't press it right, the stylus doesn't register.

Is it possible that you can press too hard on one of these touchscreen iPhone/iPod?
