Only I would make it an Oscar tank of course, not a Marine one.

Very nice tank. However, that would probably cause quite enough money to maintain, not counting the man-hours

I'm not sure it would really cost all that much.

Especially if you don't make a marine tank of it, then a whole lot of the hardware goes right out of the window.

Also those Lights are overkill in my opinion, and probably cost as much as the tank itself.

On that note though, I see he makes use of Acrylic, and I'm wondering what are the pros and cons of Acrylic vs Glass.

that was an amazing design.... i wish i could build
one like that in my life.

On that note though, I see he makes use of Acrylic, and I'm wondering what are the pros and cons of Acrylic vs Glass.

in big tank, acrylic materials is more durable than glass. the only set back for acrylic is the scratches when doing the cleaning chores

From what I've seen elsewhere Acrylic is the preference with regards to scratching, because it's easy to remove scratches.

Besides I don't see anyone really cleaning that tank actively.

acrylic is used in large aquarium building to reduce the weight of the tank. the one in this thread looks to be about 1-1.5 inches thick. can you imagine what a tank that size would weigh.

my 180 only uses 1/2 inch glass and is only 6 feet long and it takes four people to move it.

glass is usually prefered in tank for the sctratch resistance but eventually you have to make the sacrifice for the weight allowance
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

and yeah, sure wouldt love that, but i'm from Holland and i think i could do it cheaper!
My dreamtank will be 12 foot but dont think it will look so fancy!
And surely the marinefish wouldt have to go.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
