I don't know about you, but I like good hygiene. I travelled over to a neighbouring town today with my sister. We decided to have lunch allt and found a Subway sandwich bar. The guy who was making the sandwiches was wearing gloves. Problem was, he was also taking the money and not changing his gloves. Don't these companies know that money is a haven for bacteria? There is absolutely no point in somebody wearing gloves if they are handling money wearing those same gloves.

Not to disgust you but... I run the second shift on a riverboat casino. We had an outbreak of Norovirus last winter. The Health Department's official finding was that the virus was spread by a Slot Attendant who was delivering food from one of our restaurants. Slot Attendants (for anyone who isn't casino savvy) are the people who handle cash on the casino floor. The Norovirus likely found its way to the floor through money. We had 80% of our staff call in sick for the next week. Plus, the same percentage of our guests reported gastro-intestinal illness over the same period. Money and food don't mix. Money is gross. I'm a manager, and I have dirty black hands within hours of starting work everyday. The only time I handle money is when I'm paying jackpots!

I've got to agree with you guys there...I rarely handle money myself, preffereing checks.

I was in a Subway once, they guy tucked his hair behind his ear, rubbed his nose with the back of his finger (he did have gloves) then dug in to dish up a meal!!! I walker out. Must be something about Subway.....???

If you are serving food and making it, you have somebody else taking the money, I don't see why that can't be implemented. I bought some meat from the butcher downtown not long ago and he did exactly the same thing, pick the meat up with his fingers and then took the money and then didn't bother to wash his hands, it is so gross. The only reason I wasn't too bothered what I was looking at I would have killed all the bacteria, and hopefully.

Anyway, I've sent a message to Subway complaining, probably fall on deaf ears. I did say that if they carry on doing that, the chances are someone will get food poisoning at some stage and then there will be trouble.
