as pointed out by ofl some of the threads are being hyjacked and are wandering quite far off topic. im not pointing fingers at anyone in specific, hell i am also quilty of it, but it has become incresing difficult, for me anyway, to find certain information on the boards when it could be under a heading that has nothing to do with subject matter.

when i joined this site i was impressed with the layout and how easy it was to find the information i looking for. as a newbie this was important so i could see what others might have done to cure/prevent certain issues i might have been having at the time. its not that this kind of info is no longer available but i see some of this information is comming out in hyjacked threads and while, as a moderator, i read every new post on the forum im sure some member do not.

the site administration was kind enough to give us a place to where we can talk about whatever we choose to (off topic discussion) so maybe we can all try to use it a little more often. as penn has pointed out if we see that a thread hyjacking is imminent why not just start a new thread on that topic(in the appropriate section). not only will this allow us to continue to interact with each other it will make it easier for newcommers to find the information they are looking for.

Very good point. Maybe if someone sees a thread go on a tangent they could post something like -hijacked thread , start a new thread

well, i know for one im guilty of this, and if you notice i havent posted much in a few days. im goin to leave the site for a bit, god forbid i start any more hostilities for wanting to chat.

We are all guilty of hijacking threads so it applies to all of us. It is very easy to go off on a tangent without even realising it. This is why I think it might be a good idea for it to be pointed out to people. The important thing is that no one should get the hump if it is pointed out they are hijacking a thread

Nobody wants anyone to leave for whatever reason. It'll be a great shame if we let a few silly disagreements spoil things for everyone.

What happened to the chat client that was on the mainpage that was a great place for people just wanting to chat? I like the new layout and the pesonal pages but yet thechat client was great and would probably help out with the threads i could be wrong though.

It is still there, but I agree with Win, I am finding it harder to post as I am afraid I will step on toes.

And I hate to say it, but the people with the MAJOR hijacking issues is fine with doing it himself he just gets upset when it's in HIS threads... Not fair in my opinion...

At this point I think it's better to be quiet and see how this plays out!

when i wrote this post i really didnt expect any responce to it. it was just my way of pointing out that some info is being lost in hyjacked threads and maybe we could try to keep it in check as it were.
we all hyjack threads and it is something that has been going on from the first forum ever created on the web and will continue until the last webforums fails and is no more.
i know i wrote that i loved the ease of access of information on this site when i first joined but i also like the feeling of family i get from all the interaction with the member here.
it would be shame if some of you stop posting or leave the site because of a little disagreement with another member. remember like any family you wont get along great with everyone but you still go to thanksgiving dinner none the less

as penn has pointed out the only person we really to worry about upsetting is him and
if we manage to keep him happy we can all still learn and laugh here like we have been doing for the last few years.
