as every body knew, we place had been hit by two consecutive strong typhoon.
for more than 30 days, some areas are still flooded and affected people stays
at the evacuation centers.

remember this black creatures?

they are now the center of attraction for making people sick.
presently, 148 were dead and 2,000 more are sick in different hospitals.
can you imagine the epidemic they cause by mixing their waste with the
stagnant water. " LEPTOSPIROSIS "

That's bad indeed, seeing that rats are very hard to exterminate.
I have been keeping tame rats for many years now and survivalskills are truly amazing.
Females can keep sperm of the male in her body, so if the entire rat population on this world wouldt die, one female can reproduce the whole species.
Giving them poison will often not work cuz they use pre-tasting rats to see if the food will kill them.If that rat dies after eating the poison, the rest will simply not eat it.
The females and babies will eat first and the males will eat what's left.
Most animals will do that the other way around.
These animals are real survival machines and I find them fascinating, but in the wild they are real pests and history shows big numbers of humans died because of them.
How does your country deal with them, Paul.
Radical measures must be taken, i suppose.

actually, the people are aware of the danger...but taking little
precaution or none at all is the culprit. plus the recent situation
wherein people have no choice but to go back to their submerged houses,
they contacted the dreaded diseases.

the government is now being assisted by World Health Organization and our
health department are doing their best to combat the epidemic.

thats no good man, hope they get it under control.
i have rodents living in my detached garage... mice and rats. i have only seen the rats briefly, but i caught a family of mice in a box of christmas decorations this last weekend, and had no other way of dispatching them but with my single shot pellet gun.
little mice screams still haunt me
Please, for my sake, change your oil!

actually, we do not need warfarin that much. what we need is proper
education of people... after the flooding, a lot of pets died and
float in the water which remain there for more than two weeks in most
affected area. the problem is..people don't give a damn picking those
dead animals and disposed them properly. what would you think will happens
to those dead pets (dogs, cats, chickens, plus rats and other canal
thriving animals)?

when those people get back to their homes and soak their feet in
stagnant water, any minute scratches or wound is susceptible to virus
or germs from that dirty water...that is how most of the victims got
infected. ridiculous isn't it?. and LEPTOSPIROSIS is not from rats/
rodent alone. dogs and cats' urine have the same effects.

I think rats are a great animal and a strong survivor. i don't dislike them at all but i do agree you just don't want them in and around people. I feel for the people that have had the country destroyed and the following problem it has caused.
