Mind you, I remember seeing an article on oscarspot.com where they were trying to justify that keeping an Oscar in a 5 gallon tank is possible.

I don't think anyone is actually vindicating this information but I just can't see any reason why anyone would experiment in keeping a large fish in such a small aquarium. Even if you could maintain water quality, I would never agree with keeping an Oscar in a 5 gallon tank.
