I don't know if anyone in the UK is watching these two television programmes at the moment, I am a celebrity... Get me out of here, and the Long Way down. For those of you who are outside the UK, I'm a celebrity is one of those silly reality shows. I think they're on about their fourth or fifth series. Basically, they get a load of celebrities, drop them in the middle of the rainforest in Queensland Australia and then give them certain challenges that they have to take part in if they want to eat food other than rice and beans. Most of these challenges include either sticking your hand in a dark hole full of huge spiders or scorpions, or eating horrible things like crocodile penises, or fish eyes. It's actually quite good, it is good to see a load of people who have nothing in common trying to get on.
The second show, long way down is about two guys travelling from John O'Groats in Scotland, right down to Cape Town in South Africa on their motorbikes. Really good viewing.

Oh my, that "Get me out of here" thing was running here too, just a German version. No idea though if they produced more than one series. I personally keep shaking my head at what people do for publicity. As much as I'd love to go to Queensland some day, no way would I want to live in the rainforest other than in a knight's full armor. The thought of crocs and venomous snakes and all the poisonous critters there freaks me out - either the ppl are crazy or I'm just overly paranoid, lol.
The other one you mentioned sounds way more interesting to me personally, like a realistic kind of adventure.

Actually, you may have heard of Ewan McGregor, he's quite a well-known British actor. He was one of the guys who took part. Here's their website

Cool, thanks for that!
I haven't heard of that actor yet, but then again I probably wouldn't know any actor anyway that hasn't been known in the 80's already, besides spongebob squarepants maybe
I checked out the pics there, gotta be great to see all the landscapes and meet ppl and be on a bike under the African sky. I personally prefer the comfort of my couch when thinking of such a journey but still envy them a bit. Seeing the mist over the rainforest for real would probably move me to tears.

Young Obi-Wan Kenobi! Oh, why didn't you say that in the first place!
Well like this, it was more fun
Think Episode I is even the only movie I've watched in English yet.

I going to mention Star Wars but didn't think it would have been the type of film you watched.

Why, was there any humour in it?
Not quite sure now if I want to know what I'd watch or which music I'd be playing according to what you're thinking

So what is your favour television/films and music? I like science fiction, especially if it's to do with aliens. My three favourite films of all time are as follows:
An American Werewolf in London
Aliens
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
My music taste is very eclectic. I love 60s 70s 80s and some music from this era. Snow patrol, James Blunt, Robbie Williams, and quite a bit more.

Gee, hard to tell for me even. I only remember that the first Alien sequel gave me too much of a thrill already lol, I'm a coward. I rarely watch tv, it's mostly running for the kids only, so I'm familiar with all the current kids shows As for films, I like fantasy, comedy .. hm .. could think of so many now, can't decribe. It's likely I'd watch anything with Sean Connery, Dustin Hoffman, Jack Nicholson or Al Pacino in it, just great actors for my taste.
Movies I often remember are
- Dances with wolves
- Awakening
- Lord of the rings trilogy
- Life of Brian (Now THAT is old)
Oh and Highlander and The Wall .. I better stop now.
For music similar to what you said, probably a bit more on the Rock side though. From Mark Knopfler to Nickelback for me, to name a few. And AC/DC would be my all time favourite
I've got this "Wisemen" song by James Blunt in my head now since I read that.

I bought Lord of the rings trilogy about two years ago but haven't even opened yet, I was waiting till I had a really big television, which I have now. Must get round to watching them.
Awakening, that is the one with Robin Williams isn't it?, very good film. I was never that keen on Monty Python.
I absolutely love Highlander, the others weren't so good. I think the fact that Queen did the music to the first one makes it even better. "Who wants to live for ever" one of the songs I will have played at my funeral:(
I love watching AC/DC play, the guy dressed up as a schoolboy playing thei guitar is just fantastic. You don't really hear him a mentioned as a really good guitarist which he actually is.

I loved Lord of the rings although I was thinking afterwards I shouldn't have watched it - had read the books several times before and partly quite different pictures of the ppl and creatures in my head, all gone now.
Yes, awakening was that one ... watched it only once on tv ages ago but it got very stuck.
And that Queen song is one wonderful song, had to play that now. That AND a funeral wouldn't be bearable though, so please try to keep sticking around forever.
