Interesting topic, Art.
I personally tend to look at things with a more scientific view, I'm just a sucker for logic, lol. Definitely believing in evolution as far as development of life on earth goes, yet I wouldn't claim that as the one and only truth. There are things that seem to be proven but even proofs might be wrong. And it's even harder to find out about things that happened as long ago as the world creation, cause nobody witnessed it after all. There are so many things we cannot explain or understand, be it because we just haven't found out yet or it goes beyond what the human brain is able to do. I know I've been trying to imagine the "endless universe", and it's just impossible to me. (Not even sure now if that is the current theory.)It's then easier to hold some "higher spirit" responsible for those things, but who knows, that might just be the case.
So I wouldn't say I'm a believer, but neither definitely atheist. I just know that I don't know for sure, and everyone shall believe what they think is right to believe.
There is something "holy" to me in nature and everything that lives, and I think that should be respected and preserved - be it because God/Allah/Jahwe/younamethem said so or just from common sense. (Doesn't mean I wouldn't fail often at the being-respectful part

)
