Just, curious, but what is everyones opinion on how the world got created. Do you beleive in a God, or are you an atheist or something else? Do you think the big bang theory sums it all up or God created the world etc. Personally I beleive that God created the world, i cannot imagine all this happened by chance and evolution. Not to mention something cannot come from nothing without the help of God(or an angel...) in my eyes. Just curious to see what you all think.

Cheers,
Art

Interesting topic, Art.

I personally tend to look at things with a more scientific view, I'm just a sucker for logic, lol. Definitely believing in evolution as far as development of life on earth goes, yet I wouldn't claim that as the one and only truth. There are things that seem to be proven but even proofs might be wrong. And it's even harder to find out about things that happened as long ago as the world creation, cause nobody witnessed it after all. There are so many things we cannot explain or understand, be it because we just haven't found out yet or it goes beyond what the human brain is able to do. I know I've been trying to imagine the "endless universe", and it's just impossible to me. (Not even sure now if that is the current theory.)It's then easier to hold some "higher spirit" responsible for those things, but who knows, that might just be the case.
So I wouldn't say I'm a believer, but neither definitely atheist. I just know that I don't know for sure, and everyone shall believe what they think is right to believe.
There is something "holy" to me in nature and everything that lives, and I think that should be respected and preserved - be it because God/Allah/Jahwe/younamethem said so or just from common sense. (Doesn't mean I wouldn't fail often at the being-respectful part )
If I were a guy, I\'d have probably needed only 30% of the amount of words to say this

Boy, this could be a very sensitive subject. First of all, I respect anybody's opinion on whatever the subject may be, whether I actually agree with it or not.

I also tend to look at things more in a scientific way as well. You have to ask yourself, who is, or what is God? He's normally portrayed as an old man with a big white beard doesn't he? Very difficult to get your head around that one. Personally, I do believe in the big bang. However, it's very difficult to understand where life actually came from. Life has to start from somewhere. I'm in the opinion that we all originate from somewhere else in the galaxy. All it would have taken was a meteor carrying very basic life to hit planet Earth and there you go, the world is seeded. Humans as we know them have been around for less than 100,000 years, that's just a blink of an eye to how long life has actually been on Earth. We look at it like that you can see how life can evolve over an extreme long period of time.
I may not always be right, but I am always the boss

Yes, it's definatley a touchy topic. Although most people portray God as an elderly man with a long white beard, it never says anything about God the Father's appearance in the holy bible. The only thing, and i mean the only thing that gets me with the big bang is- what caused it? Why did it happend, and where did everything come from?

This subject is one that could run and run. Some people get very very animated when discussing it. The deeper you think about it the more questions you end up with, with ever more situations that are far removed from what we live with in everyday life

Personally i dont believe in gods and/or higher powers
I can't get no sleep

It seem that 75% are atheist and agnostic, and 25% mixed between various religions(i ran this as a poll on several forums). In the middle east, however(although i didn't run polls over there, most people are muslim, from what I've read.

Personally, i look at this wonderful world and think. This couldn't have happened by chance. Something had to have caused it. Many disagree w/me though, and that's just fine to, i don't judge people by religion.
