Am glad to see that Japan has postponed its plans to hunt humpback . It makes me very angry at the excuses they come up with for hunting whales. They are hunting them for scientific purposes, do they actually think anybody believes this? However, Japan has always been a law unto themselves and will probably ignore everyone and do what they want.

We will all be saying we should have done more to stop them when there are no whales left in the sea, too late then
I may not always be right, but I am always the boss
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved

Ugh, that again
I personally keep having a hard time imagining any whale to be killed at all, for whatever purposes, but I keep telling myself that others probably find it terrible we eat beef or pork.
It is so very sad though how economical interests win most times over ecological ones, like we didn't have only this one world.
If I were a guy, I\'d have probably needed only 30% of the amount of words to say this

the whole whale thing is really getting out hand now.

intresting enough i watched a program not so long ago where the green peace rig their boats up with huge spiks and blad looking stuff welded to the ship and they go and bang and crash into these japanese whale hunter ships with the intention to sink them.

it was a really good program very exciting

You can't really equate it to the fact that we eat other animals. A lot of the worldwide condemnation comes from how they are killed. There is no way to kill them humanely, and we have all seen the horrible video footage of how they are killed.

I am lucky enough to live in a part of the world, where for 2 or 3 months a year we get to see these magnificent animals quite often as they migrate south. They are friendly and intelligent to the point that they will actually approach boats and play and show off around them. It's awesome being out not too far from shore and have these behemoths swimming around you. It breaks my heart that some of them won't be around to play next year.

Shoot the ships instead!!!! Do the 'scientific testing' on yourselves not poor animals.
