This is what I'm looking for, something that will pop up on the computer screen when you turn it up in the morning and remind you of forthcoming birthdays, appointments etc. I did find some software but I think it will only tell you the birthday on the day which is not a lot of good.

OFL i run lotus notes on my work PC and the calender can be set up to remind u 24hours b4 hand or when u log in which is pretty nice but in saying that lotus notes is really crap though just the calender that is usefull.

im almost sure that if sumone has entered all their skype details that skyp send s u a message reminding u that its their B-day.

How about that Penn a Oscarfishlover instant messaging program?

This reminded me I had been looking for one myself, was using just some list with upcoming appointments and such but kinda never opening it anyway lol.

I found one now I'm gonna keep, TaskPrompt:

Looks good to me, can be set to start with windows and minimize to system tray. Very customizable.

Else I had a very simple birthday reminder that could notify you ahead of time, but couldn't do more than that, I threw it off now.
If I were a guy, I\'d have probably needed only 30% of the amount of words to say this

I desperately need something to remind me of appointment & birthdays. I have probably got the worst memory in the world. It's no point in writing things on a Callender, I would need a reminder to reminds me to look at the Callender

YES! That one is even better ... does the same but way simpler. Penn, you gotta try that really.
And thanks johnl! (Although wasn't me asking for one)

Thanks very much, this is exactly what I'm looking for. I always turn my computer on first thing in the morning, whether I'm going out or not so I've set it to remind me on start up. I've got no excuse to forget appointments now
