Go on, make us all jealous, what's the weather like down under? Today in Brixham is actually very mild and sunny. Going out this afternoon for a carvery with my cousin and his family

In Perth.............today 35 degrees, tomorrow 35 degrees, Xmas day at the beach 38 degrees, Boxing Day 38 degrees
My last Christmas in England (2000) was a white one and honestly it's better to be cold at Christmas IMHO

Well, you can keep your 35°C, that's too hot for me anyway, a nice temperature is around 23°C, I could live with that temperature all year around. I would quite happily do away with cold weather for ever. If I ever won the lottery, I would buy a holiday home in Australia and live there for around three months of the year, probably the coldest months here. I would make you sure it's next to a nice river where I could go fishing, that's my fantasy, and it will probably stay like that knowing how my luck goes.

Well, it's been about 20 years since I was there, but I remember Brixham as one of the nicest places I have ever been to, surely that's worth a bit of cold

I tend to be jealous when hearing about the temps in Australia always, but 35° is just too hot!
Read this thread earlier this morning and was thinking I prefer it here for Christmas time at least, I just like a white Christmas. Not that we ever got any, but at least there is a chance. Then I stepped outta the door to walk the dog and almost landed on my butt instantly, the dog walked funny too.
So gimme 35° today please as long as there's a beach!

If I were a guy, I\'d have probably needed only 30% of the amount of words to say this

I think I need to move to Iceland ... I love the cold.
If you like it warm, florida in the u.s. is for you. Up until last week it was about 85F/30C. Finally a bit of a cold front, so it is a bit cooler, high tomorrow will be about 77F/25C.
I would prefer all year of at or lower than 63F/17C. That is good sleeping weather Makes the heaters on the fish tanks work harder though
I suppose some of it is the greener grass you see elsewhere, but when you live there, the grass still has to be mowed. Hot areas like where I am never see snow, the leaves barely change (sometimes stays green all year), and you sweat your tail off through the summer just by stepping outside. In cold regions, they have to deal with ice on the roads and cars, snow blocking roads, and I am sure other things that I don't know about because I don't experience it.
I will say this, I would rather have the beautiful smell of a fireplace. Since I am a vegetarian (almost vegan), though I like the hickory of bbq, I can't stand the smell of the stuff cooking over it. I would rather be bundled up in a sweatshirt to stay warm than dripping sweat in anything I wear.
I guess it is all down to what you prefer to put up with, matched with what your body agrees with as well; which seems to not stick to genetics ... my mother is cold at anything above 80F/27C ... and I still feel too warm at that temperature, and both of us have been that way since my earliest memories (so it isn't old age for her ). I can recall wearing shorts to school in near freezing weather as a child and it feeling really good, while others thought I was a bit off
Anyone know of a place that is 10-16C (50-60F) most of the year?
