being in arizona, i have not had to purchase a heater for my O's.
but since they have ich, i want to help them rid them quickly, i went and got a heater. i have a 75 gallon tank and purchased 2 "30-60 gallon heaters". i put one on each side of the tank. i bought 2 because the O's will be transferred to a 125 gallon tank in a few days or week. do i have too many heaters in my 75 gallon tank or not? the temp is now 80 and my goal is to slowly get it to 84-86 to kill this parasite. thanks.

I would say to comfortably beat a 75 gallon tank to 30°C you be looking at around 200 W, maybe you could do it with slightly less, but I would be looking for around 200 W said no, you haven't got too many heaters. You can put as many heaters in the tank as you like, as long as the water temperature doesn't rise above a level that is dangerous for your fish, you are perfectly okay.

thank you so, so much. i am looking forward to my O's and Plecos to be rid of ich. One side question. I will be transferring them soon to the 125. After reading so many suggestions and instructions, I am having trouble understanding how I can transfer them in a cycled tank when I need the filters going for their 75 gallon tank right now. Do you have any advice? Thnaks again. Be blessed.

The easiest thing to do is to transfer the water and filters over to your new tank and then just move the fish in. Obviously if one tank is going to replace the other one in exactly the same spot then it could be a little more tricky. Just remember that you will need more filtration on your 125 than your 75 gallon tank
