So, is anyone else naming their fish?
I think there has been a thread about that before, but I'm sitting here stupid currently and can't come up with any names, I'm so not creative.
Since I got into cichlids, my fish get named

I have several quite new ones now:
The pink convict was named Hope by my daughter. Think after some cartoon or anime character, but since I was hoping for it not to get eaten, I found it appropriate.

The geophagus I named Kermit .. well it just looks like a frog. I'm not sure if it's still there though.

Else, I took over a second firemouth (the other is J.R.) and have a yet unnamed salvin's cichlid that's gonna be a bit of a bully by the looks.

Any suggestions?

i dont name my fish at all dont like naming things.

I have a dog named Moose and a cat named Cow. But I have never named fish, maybe I will name them all Bird.

I have named most of my fish, it just makes it easier to discuss them with my wife. My Oscars are Plato, Socrates, Icarus,Achilles, Spartacus and Brutus - bit of a theme there

we have also used little imagination with some others e.g. Con and Connie the Convicts, Sal the Salvini, Jack the Jack Dempsey, Tex the Texas, Blackie the Blackbelt etc.

Then there's Nigel the Chocolate cichlid, and Heidi the Red Devil......I think it's fun

I wanted to call my oscar Koshie, but there's a really annoying man that is on a morning show here called Koshie, and every time I thought of that name he popped into my head...and he is SO annoying. So Oscar is Oshie Kosh Kosh.
I have three peppered catfish P1 P2 and P3, and a golden loach, Bob!

Oh, naming fish sure is fun! My green terror is Brutus, too.

The kids make fun of me already, cause when we're eating at the table which is next to the tank, I'm usually like "BRUTUS! ELTON!" every few minutes.

When I was watching my firemouthes this morning they had me thinking I should rename the old one and name them both after the dobermann's of Higgins from Magnum, P.I..

I then found out they were named Apollo and Zeus, and I kinda don't want to name firemouth cichlids after gods when there's an Oscar in the tank So the old one stays J.R. and the other is T.C. now.

I so want to watch Magnum now though, is that still (or again) running on tv anywhere?

Oscars already have a name OSCAR. I just call mine names like big oscar or tiger or albino oscar

My wife and I name all my fish (see my sig). All family members should have names.
