Unbelievable, yet another shooting. Is gun culture in America to blame? I've had this discussion of other forums before. Apparently in Virginia, you can buy a gun without any background checks. Surely this isn't right? Handguns were banned over here after a load of children were murdered. I'm not convinced banning things always works. However, I do think that stronger restrictions need to be placed
I may not always be right, but I am always the boss
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved

It's not the guns to blame, its the people who pull the trigger. Kids today are just unsupervised and I need only point to Columbine as an example. The Parents should have nipped that in the bud but failed to act even though the warning signs were clear that their lovely children were becomming monsters. Many Parents in todays society, don't (don't parent) and rely on society to raise their children for them. I am convinced we are a society of very low morals. My deepest condolences to the injured, dead, survivors, parents and emergency responders who had to deal with this today. I have a daughter away at College and it is hard to even imagine.

You know, not for nothing folks but something is wrong here in the States.

I happen to live in New Jersey and I am a legal handgun and longarm owner myself. Yet today, had I wanted to go purchase another handgun I would be subjected to an application process (again here in NJ according to NJ Laws) that would drag out for weeks if not months before being approved. YET travel a few hours south to the great Commonwealth of Virginia and a resident there (Resident Alien or Resident Citizen) can walk out with his gun purchase a scant hour or two after making the application. I guess they (The Virginia Authorities, not the Gun Shop Dealer) chose to overlook that the shooter down at Virginia Tech was hospitalized twice for mental reasons. (Doh! ) He was also once reported to be suicidal too. Yet down there they give guns to alien mental patients just that fast.

I'm sorry but as a great fan of Americal History, I must proclaim that the Civil War is over folks. That war was all about States Rights and before some of you complain, yes the Southern States wanted the RIGHT to maintain Slavery so it was all about States Rights and economics. But that war is long over and I say we need to quickly get over the issue of maintaining States Rights and have a NATIONAL requirement and policy for owning guns and a NATIONAL Drivers License too. It's TIME!! We all need a Passport to get out of this Country of ours and that is the same regardless of what State you live in. Let's add GUN RIGHTS and DRIVERS LICENSES to it as well. I am not anti-gun but I am anti-stupid and some of the easy laws down south are plain stupid in todays day and age. There, I had to say it.......
