I took delivery of my new amateur radio tower today. I know it probably doesn't mean a lot to any of you, but I'm really excited.

You never stop to amaze me, Penn!

You got some nice equipment going for you there.
Is home broadcasting not prohibited in your country?
In Holland it has become illigal some years ago...
All broadcasting equipment will be confined and taken away, and you get a big fee while you sit on you couch smoking a big blunt and watch them...
Strange country...

Thanks Nikki, I am truly excited about the whole project.

I am a licensed radio ham Noddy so I am able to broadcast on allocated radio amateur bands. The conditions were very good couple of days ago into Holland, some very strong stations coming out of your country. The next time I hear Holland I will try and make contact and put the video recorder on.

we do call them "Pirates".
I know guys whos equipment and towers were taken by police, and they were back on the air the next day.
House music had a real boost in Holland years ago by a station named "Radio XTC".
well that figures...

they broadcasted for years from changing locations.

Yes, anyone who transmits illegally on a radio frequency is classed as a "Pirate"even an amateur radio.

Pirate radio broadcasters often operate out of buildings and have to flee at the drop of a hat. They leave everything behind except their record collection.

When i was younger, say 14-16, we used to have broadcast from Radio Inhoud.
They broadcasted from a shed behing one of the farms on the countryside nearby.
Every tuesday and fridaynight, couches in a barn, rock and roll, beer at supermarket prices and lots of nice girls.
We had listeners checking the police scanners, and if they would come, the broadcast would shut down, and we'd only play music.
Oh, the memories........................

I enjoy the hobbies I have got, they keep me busy and I feel like it's worth getting up in the morning even though many people in my position don't have much going on in their lives
