i thought it would be cool to hear about other members first fish tanks or their very 1st fishes


my very first fish tank i got when i was 6 or younger i had a gold fish i won at some kind of fair or something his name was Ralf i had him in a 10 gl tank with an old school bubbler the kind with cotton and charcoal he lived for about 6 or 7 years he was about 7 inches when he died he made a 1500 mile trip in a ball canning jar from MI. to GA. because i did not want to give him away even tho i was told i could get new ones.

i also had a 150gl tank this was about 7 years ago with all kinds of fish that i got at a yard sale for $20. fish,plants,rocks, cems included that tank broke when i was moving would have made a nice oscar home

My first tank was 75 gallons, that's when I first started keeping Oscars. That was about seven years ago. Then I realised that wasn't going to be big enough so I migrated onto a 125 gallon tank. And then two years ago, the 300 gallon tank came along. I've still got the 125 gallon tank running but I have been toying with the idea of shutting that one down. The only thing that's stopping me if I've got a bunch of clown loach that I've had for quite a few years and they are quite at home, I really don't want to disrupt them so I suppose the tank will have to stay

yeah guess so my living room has 3 tanks in it my Oscar tank soon to be my bigger Oscar tank my goldfish tank(i know they are nasty but i have a soft spot for them) my mom has taken to keeping frogs so they have a tank

my first ever tank is a 1.5 gal size bowl and i started it with a fighting fish (i believe they were called tetra in the normal world of fish keeping). until now, that bowl is with me and being used as hospital tank for my gold fish whenever needed.

fish keeping had been my other source of livelihood. in my office, i always have one. whenever a client want to buy it, i let it go or set-up another one for them.... (for a fee).

I started with a 10 gallon tank I kept minnows in

next was another 10 gallon to go with, then a 20, and so on

my first tank was around 10 gallon and had 2 black moors in it, still keep black moors as thayt have a real place in my heart!

My first was a 55 gallon my dad had setup before i was born. We set it up i had two oscars a jack a firemouth and a green terror. i loved it. I think i was about 10 years old. Then the ice storm hit we were without power for four days. I tried everything to save my tank, I wrapped it in insulated blankets, poured warm water heated on the gas stove, and got caught luckily bby my fater trying to connect wires from the plug on the heater and just as i was about to hook them to a motorcycle battery, my dad informed me it would not work and that i was going to get electricuted. Now with the help of my current love I have three, a 180gal, 120gal , and a 47 gal, love the hobby wish I could open my own shop.
