pitbulls are a tough one they are banned here in UK but people think it is smart to own them and those same people buy them from illegal owners who breed them to fight and so the puppy they think are cute are actually bred killing machines.

I dont think this is the case in USA I think people have been able to see that the breed has got truely beautiful and loyal dogs and natures. And yes there are some amazing caring pitbuls out there. In the same way most staffies here in UK are lovely they just get a bad rep and idiots that breed the wrong traits into the breed and eventually ruin it for all.

Hey do we have pics of this cute puppy?

And thats sad that they got put down, if no family could have taken them you would think they would get to be rehomed from a rescue centre. Although saying that Ive seen the animal houston tv show and they test the dogs very strictly. There was one dog on there and they fed him and then took the bowl a way with a stick, he glances around as to say whats that and why are you doing that. They judge this as aggression and put the dog down as he was not suitable to rehome. I found it a little sad as in this country they would have worked on that and maybe rehomed him to experience owners with no kids, but atleast they would have tried...

I dont know whats for the best.

We should be so lucky Jnet. Pitbulls are banned in many areas. We have too many people fighting them. It makes me sick. Especially when I see puppies that had their ears mutilated because their owners took razor blades to them rather then having them done by a Vet. The same with the tails. How the puppies ears and tail look is uaually already a pretty good indicator of what kind of seller you are dealing with.

thats sad Sandra I had hoped the USA were better but I guess thats the world; I cant stand dog fighting I hate it. And dog cropping and tail docking is banned in this country. If someone cut their dogs ears it would be picked up on pretty quick. I dont get why they look fine just the way they are.

No offense to Best here as the dog in his pic has cropped ears and Im guessing its still seen as acceptable to some degree but I dont understand why would you?

I get tail docking because Ive seen dogs suffer with broken tails.

Sad that was the case with your dogs Best; in this country they may have been rehomed it would have just stated that they do not mix with other dogs and not suitable homes with other pets children. If they were deem to be too aggressive towards humans or dogs then sadly there is only one option for the safety or all.

I hope you socialise your new puppy better getting them mixing at a young age is the key. And still would like pics. :)

Docking the ears is usually done to make the dog look more aggresive. We currently own a pitbull and had a Pitbull in the past and their tails or ears were not done. He was the biggest baby and we couldnt have asked for a better dog , just like the girl we have now. I think with any breed its in how you raise them. Any time I have ever brought a dog home I have made sure that I was able to be with that dog almost 24/7 for about a week. The only time you will ever see any kind of aggression is when my family is threatened in any way. When that happens my dog usually resembles Cujo.

what we learnt at college is that dogs pick up on encouragment so all their behaviours are enforced by reward. If you reward aggression you get an aggressive dog, same with out of control. Most dogs that are bouncy and crazy have been praised for this behaviour and so they act up to it. Then later on down the line when they are no longer cute the owners get upset by this same behaviour. Often its the owners that are to blame.

Grants mum is a clear example of this.
She has 2powderpuffs which she brought of me; they are lovely dogs and when with me they are great on a walk. They follow my dogs and I can let them of the lead no worries, no stress. Im relaxed and so dogs are having fun.

Ann walks the dogs, she sees a strange, she panic, pulls leads tight and the dogs start barking, growling and most people cross the road to get by her.

This is just one of the examples of poor behaviour that she allows; Im not saying she is a bad owner she loves her dogs to bits and spoils them but she also causes all their bad behaviour by encouraging them whether she does it on purpose or not.

My dogs are no saints aswell Rei is a little shit and suffer bad from anxiety something Ive never been able to shift and it torments me that she doesnt feel happy.

Also some dogs are naturally aggressive or insane and thats something you cannot help. It may be imbred, through cruelty, or mental illess etc but some are never going to be ok dogs.

well off subject, Im sorry Best

We also have a pitbull/boxer mix in the family. She is absolutely the most adorable, lovable, caring, and most loyal dog ever. Libby is the biggest baby ever. I hate hearing about these sorts of things. Makes me sick to my stomach. Almost to the point of freaking out on terrible parents, and people!! Just a rediculous thing that people do.

Just look how sweet these animals can be. I <3 my pit!!
