Sounds cool kazzy. Black sand always looks good. I think it adds a modern feel to the tank and it looks very clean

yer, same as del said, I had some plants, pulled them all out coz i got sick of removing bits of them from the top of the tank and around the filter intake, all i have now is the one plant on the small bit of log:

Bamboo looks good you just have to fasten it so your O doesn't rip it out. My O is 9 1/2 inches and can destroy things, yesterday i put my hand in the tank and got bit. The little bastard drew blood, they have plenty of power to break Sh!t.

not only that... i tested myself being bitten by n oscar.... i put my hand inside
the tank knowing it will be bitten... i should not be shock anymore but when oscar
did bit me, my normal reflection causes me to break the cover lid

I like the look of plants on logs very much. Works good for moss too.
That wouldt be an option for my tank, for i'd still be able to vacuum the gravel, without sucking up the plants.
