As you know I got my two oscars without realising how fast they grow. They are in a 30 gallon tank. I have been able to keep them happy and healthy till now but keeping nitrates down has been a real pain. Water changes and gravel vacuum every other day etc. To anyone else thinking of trying this I would not recommend it.

Anyway money has been a bit tight of late and I was beginning to think I would have to give them up for there own good. But last night I found this little beauty. Fifty quid and only 50 miles away.

http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/php/detail59_180105.php

It is 93 gallons and should keep them very happy for a good while. I have enough filtration for the new tank so there will be no waiting for it to cycle. I am picking it up on saturday morning.

I am very, very excited. It's 7am and I am posting this here!

Now I need to find a good local timber yard so I can get cracking with a stand.

Pics will come as soon as I get it home.

Once again thanks to everyone for all help and advice. I know I don't ask questions very often but I do read pretty much everything posted here.

Thanks Staffie, I will be happy if I can get mine looking as good as yours.

There are loads of 2nd hand tanks out there at the minute for very good deals. Obviously it remains to be seen if I can get it home and filled with water in one piece.

Iv seen tanks on Aquarist classifieds for 3 times that price and you wouldn't dare keep fish in them.
Your Tank The glass looks good all you need to do is maybe varnish the the lid at some point

Looks like a good deal, and this tank will indeed keep your O very happy, and maintenance levels acceptable.
if you haven't got it, GO GET IT QUICKLY!

I spoke to him last night and arranged to pick it up tomorrow morning.

He said I was the first to call and he would hold it till then for me. I was also a bit worried and would have rather paid a deposit or something but he said cod would be fine.

Now look what you've gone and done. I am going to call him to check now......
