I just emailed the guy about a possible trade for this tank. I offered up my 90 and 125 plus partial cash payment for this monster. Offered the 90 tank/stand and $200 or the 125 tank/stand and $150. Waiting on dimensions and any other info he may have.

I should make absolutely sure that it is indeed a 500 gallon tank and not a simple mistake where he meant to write either a 500 L, or 50 gallon tank. 500 US gallons is pretty big, you're talking 8 foot, maybe even 9. Then you've got to heat and filter this huge tank. Let us know what is included..

HAHAHA... That's exactly what my gf said... "who the hell buys a 500 gallon tank for a 2 year old". Obviously someone with way too much time and money on their hands.

By my best calculations, the interior dimensions on this tank are 95"x35"x35" making it 503 gallons. 8 foot is actually shorter than the 285 gallon tank I'm working on now. Only way I'm going to be able to pull this one off is if he accepts the trade. The weight of the water alone is 4200 pounds. This may be a project that will have to go into storage until I'm in a place permanently. Pretty bad when you have to consider buying a house to put all of your tanks in. Still waiting on actual dimensions.

Hell... if this is a true 500 gallon tank with stand, it's worth $350 easy. This is the kind of deal worth putting in storage until I had room for it. Contemplating really hard now about buying a house next spring now lmfao.

As for the cheap price, remember that tanks that big are difficult to sell because potential buyers are in short supply due to the size. I for example would give my high teeth for that whereas my g-friend would leave if i turned up with that so as much as i would like it I woudlnt be able to buy it!!!!

Never did get a response from the guy. Oh Well. I already have 3 tanks. This would have been too crazy. Nice... but crazy.
