First of many questions

Do Oscars like a fairly still aquarium, or lots or airation and powerful water currents.

The tank will be around a 6x2x2 foot setup so will have room to do almost anything.

I wouldnt suggest you get a flow like you get in a stream but some circulation is needed. If get the right amount of filtration for your tank then this will create enough

Air pumps will be fine as these ripple the surface allowing more oxygen into the water

Power heads can be used to create circulation but again if i used these i would use them to break the surface up

I wouldnt worry about water flow too much, you just need to get your filter to circulate the water and to keep the surface rippled. If you have external filters have either the inlet and outlet at opposite ends or if they are at the same end have the outlet pushing the water away from the inlet (and adjust its height to ripple the water)
