I have decided on a list of fish for my 180g that is almost done.

2 x Salvini Cichlid (Cichlasoma Salvini)
1 x Severum (Heros efascticious)
1 x Green Phantom Pleco (Hemiancistrus subviridis L200)
2 x Pictus Catfish (Pimelodus pictus)
1 x Oscar (Astronotus ocellatus)
2 x Firemouth (Thorichthys meeki)
5 x Silver Dollar (Metynnis argenteus)

For filtration I have a 30g sump and 2 Cascade 1000 canisters. I used the online app AqAdvisor for a little help... has anyone else used this as a rough guide on loading out a tank. Thanks for the input.

Ditch the pictus catfish your asking for trouble...they have spines and will become stuck in an Oscars mouth if they try to eat them....which they will lol..

I dont think most of these other websites take into account the sheer amount of waste that Oscars produce...and label them the same as any other cichlid.

plus these people normally overlook the fast growth of an oscar that tend to
dominate the tank and will try to snatch anything smaller that will fit to
their mouth.

however, there are times oscar ignore some live food as in the case of
my tilapia that is now full grown

You have a chance to add any info you like to the site, for the creator of that site is actually a member on OFL.
I was laughing at some advice regarding Gar, when the guy jumped up and asked for any input.
There's a thread somewhere, in what we discussed quite some things.

Just take care that your L200 is big enough not to fit the oscars mouth.
And a specimen that big may cost you some serious bucks.
It's one of the more expensive plecos around here.
How big will yours be, and what's the pricetag attached to it?
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

I have seen sites say its ok to keep arowana in 4ft tanks. a 24-28" fish in a 4ft tank. to those sites a big pinch of salt.

What would be a good replacement for the pictus... I would like something that is somewhat active during the day.

I was going to get it from tangledupincichlids.com, he has a 4.5" for 40.00, If it gone by the time I order I will get something else... I just want something fairly colorful.
